Hi, I am toying with replacing the dash/speedo/tacho/water temp/fuel gauge cluster with digital versions - probably from egauges.com - like these: http://www.egauges.com/vdo_ind.asp?Type=Cyberdyne_Kit&Series=Cyber_Blue&PN=E002E350Y or from vgauges which are similar.

[daft] Question: Just want to be sure...

Will I have issues with the ECU not getting data because the original instuments are basically not there anymore. I have an automatic - and I have SAW installed (FANTASTIC BTW). Or does the current dash data come FROM the ECU?

Thanks in advance.

Andy

The only one that is going to cause an issue is your Speedo - as the Vehicle speed sensor is passed through the speedo first before teh signal is altered and sent to the ECU for the PAS, Hicas and autobox. But thats simple to get around by just retaining the small board for the Speedometer and hiding it behind your new dash, it seperates from the main speedo unit and only measured about 5cm x 5cm

So your saying that the ecu will still send the relevant info to the dials and it will display. Just thought this was harder to do. Thought about it myself but nightmare come to mind LOL

no he just needs to keep the stock speedo board so the cars ecu still see's the speedo reading.

He will have to wire up the new gauges independently with there own sensors.

Arrr right, just thought plug and play LOL!!! I'll go back to sleep:nelson:

There are some complete Digital race dashes that are plug and play with some car ECU's and aftermarket ECU's like AEM.

But nothing for the zed stock ecu.
