Just thought you might like to know ...

 

On way home from work tonight, locked horns with a brand-spanking Merc CL500 coupe.

 

Matey obvioulsy thought he'd leave me for dead as we screamed down the slip road of the M20 (he was in front and had a slight head start). However, I'm pleased to relate that my little baby gained ground on him all the way to 120 'ish where other traffic was encountered and anchors sharply applied!

 

Fooking Marvellous! 9 of my car available for the same money as his, and even though I've just checked the Merc website to see the CL500 has 306bhp as standard, the zed had the edge.

 

No wonder he looked a bit pale when I passed him!

 

BTW, no mods on mine (yet), bar the 'zorst. First serious race I've had. Great stuff.

I must admit - yesterday, I managed to get out of the clutches of the Mrs and got out for a blast and found great joy in blasting down the A61 along with 4 superbikes.

 

Unfortunately, I couldn't squeeze between a road light whilst overtaking 8 cars.

 

BUT - WHAT A RUSH!!!!!!!

Its a lovely feeling allright John ,prob mentioned it before,on A45 from M1 to Billing Jap day,passing the cocky nit in his newly engined Lotus Carlton at 155MPH,the look on his face at Billing gates was priceless,a week later it was up for sale in local paper for £16,000,(i wonder why!).

(In my previous swb zed by the way!)

from what i remember, we were cruising along at about 90, when the guy in front thought "fcuk it!!" & give it large as we all blatted up the M1 in formation!!!!

btw, driven CL500's & the V12 600, lovely cars but not really built to be a performance car. the engines are far too lazy to give a zed any real trouble. hand it over to Brabus for ther conversion and were talking a different ball game altogether!!

that the one with 'BEAST' on the number plate? I saw him coming into billing, were u following him in?

Yep,i think that was him,on the entry gates at billing he was in left lane me on right,he looked over and gave a timid thumbs up!,anyway he's sold it now,cant believe its worth £16,000,just that there rare i suppose.
