Something I wish I'd never done with O2 was renew my contract with an 18month one in August last year. From what I understand, to break the contract, I'd need to pay off the remainded of the line rental, or an agreed sum.

Has anyone done this? What kind of fees did you guys end up having to pay?

Yes i have done it Si, and it was with O2 aswell! I will never use them again! I had to pay about £150 to get out of the remainder i believe, and they had'nt cancelled it either, they did once i found out and asked AGAIN!

Best thing Si, is give em a quick buzz and they will tell you what it will cost you.

HTH.

Whats up bud... i got 3 contract with O2 and always found them very good??

They are expensive...aren't they all though. I have a fully expensed work phone and just don't use my O2 one much anymore.

I have been with O2 for about 3 or 4 years now, so I am hoping they won't sting me too much.

That's not too bad. How much of your contract where you into?

I'll be honest Si it was like 2 years ago, so i can't remember, but it was quite a while! If i were to take a guess probably 6-9 months!

They are a little..

i got an i phone and a blackberry and that cost me £80 a month and the Mrs has a phone and that costs about 35 i dont use too many mins on the i phon so need to drop it down as that alone is 45 so could cut my bill down by a tenner at least...

well good luck bud..

depends.. my i phone is £45 i get 1200 mins unlimited text and unlimited internet.. blackberry is same but 600mins..for £35 so i will just down the mins on the i phone so it's the same as the blackberry then they will be 35 each..

I'm on Vodafone and i started off on £35 with 500 mins and 500 texts - but when i renewed they very kindly doubled that for free :D

However i live away from my girlfriend so spend alot of time on the blower, lol. After a hefty bill i upgraded to £50 - 1500 mins and unlimited texts!

However i love my girlfriend and got another hefty bill  SOOOOOO i upgraded AGAIN!

I now pay £75  however i get 3000 mins and unlimited texts! That 50 hours, and i friggin hope that is enough now

Great, well, O2 want £400 to release me from the contract! Gits!

i use oramge and find them very good, i pay 35 a month and get 1200 cross network mins anytime and 500 texts and unlimited landline calls.

generally you have too pay off the reminder of the line rental on your current tariff, or if you are far enough into your contract (14months i think) they will allow you to reduce it to the lowest tariff and pay the rest at that rate, but because you only took the contract 5 months ago think you are pretty screwed. if you took a decent phone i would sell it on ebay try to raise some of the funds to pay the 400 quid (if the phone is good enough you might get the whole amount) if you want out of it bad enough.

Unfortunately I got out of the car a little too quickly yesterday and inadvertently launched it into the road. It's now covered in little marks and scratches. :(

Have you got phone insurance........ use your imagination !

I did that already! LOL, this is phone number 2. You still have to pay £25 for a replacement handset. Phone insurance is a con.

you can claim as many times as you like with o2 insure, may still be worth it if the phone is good enough, might bring that 400 quid cancelation fee down to 100 quid.

hmm my friend who works in a mobile phone shop said that if you say you have no signal at home then you can end your contract they wont come to your home to check but your paying a service that your not getting not sure if this works but have a look into it
