Im getting a "bong" noise when i reach and exceed 70mph, is there a way to get rid of it as its getting very irritating :xxx:

LOL yes ther is there is a green wire under the hood for the dial cluster just snip it and it's gone.... sorry it on teh top left hand side... there was a link i'll see if i can find it for you....

 

it to let you know your exceeding the maximum speed limit..... Yours is a Jap isnt it ;)

Yep, the buzzer is behind the clocks. You can unplug it (which will disable all bong chimes for lights on, reversing, doors open..etc). or you follow the green wire that comes out of it till it reaches a bullet connector and only disconnect that instead (and insulate the ends) - that will disable the speed chime only.

I had that but mine an auto still...

 

turned out to be the lights (rear) in the little black box in the rear i needed to cut a wire because i have the LED Viper rear lights.....

 

have you standard rear lights?

mine does that too after the auto to manual conversion, its the beeper that tells you you are in reverse but dont have your foot on the brake or accelerator,

from what i remember from trying to get rid of it, its not the beeper that does lights on door open warning

Have you fitted a UK spec speedo cluster? that causes the noise also.

Kind of guessed you had, I assume its a conflict issue, both my zeds did it after the clocks where changed for UK items but to be honest has never bothered me nor has the reverse beeper which some find annoying.

my import had its clocks change and i dont get the bong, so it must be bypassable

Ive taken the bonger out now. The bit I miss is the lights on bonger so I might just put it back.

 

I wonder if I should weigh it and add it to weight loss thread :)
