yeah heard the news i spoke with one of his (john martyns) mates today....sad loss to the music world i will listen to solid air tonight ....there's gonna be one hell of a wake in ireland me thinks :)

Thanks for the call earlier , Bud . It kinda didn`t sink in straight away . The more I watch and listen on YouTube , the more I realise what we`re losing . He was unique . Irreplaceable . Brilliant . And funny !

he was a drinker alright...cost him a leg and more over the years...amazing he made it to 60 really...never as notorious as some rock n roll stars...led zep/stones etc but he could party...shame in some ways as no doubt some songs and riffs never made it out of his head

i spoke with john once ,,at a gig ....and i said JD or JB.....and he said both ....and just laughed and said ....the bar's open .....
