I have learnt an all important lesson since Friday, repsect for the Z. It was pissing down, I took a countyr lane corner at 35mph, just touched the throttle and next thing you know !! She was gone, she spun twice covering about 720 Degrees in front of oncoming cars and all, I looked an absolute twat !! However, I drive like a pussy in the wet now but still give her a bashing in the sun (when that is). It shook me up I must say. I think it was partly due to 320bhp to the rear wheels and them being over inflated, turns out I had the rears at 40 psi which is too much for me 225/50/r16's, lowered them when I got home and it has been fine since.

Think I have realised what is causing the wobbling, I have a dent in my front alloy !! Not a happy camper, so, anyone know where I can get a new / original mint Z wheel ??

Dan,

Hope you are ok and your Z too, Apart from your pride, eh?

You must respect the Z, I learnt my spinning lesson in my old car (the one before my 220 Tomcat, stand in for a dodgy Z I bought and gave back!)

It was a 200SX....not as much hp but all back end...

I was coming off an island at about 35mph, onto a dual carrige way at (which had a slight curve on it) and I put my foot down and it had just rained and I spun round to face the on coming traffic! I bricked it, waved at the other drivers that had stopped just in time and turned round (very quick and stupid feeling 3 point turn) and drove off and let everyone pass me!! I couldn't drive too fast as I had about a ton of the brown stuff lodged in my pants!

Took me about 4 days to get over it. I will never forget the power under my feet, especially in my new Z.....

I'll wait till the weather dries out more before I go anywhere at speed and in built up area's I'll be doing 30-35mph, Not only for the safety but because I want EVERYONE to see my spanky new pride and joy!!

:o)

Happy sensible driving matey!

Matty.

its well easy to spin in it back end o mine slide out yester day on a white line only doing about 15MPH but i could do wi some tyres with tred left on

Todger,

I span my old 200 a second time, late for work, adverse camber, really bad rain (monsoon like) and I cornered to fast, doing 40-45mph on a corner you should take at 35mph in the dry!

So, Needless to say I span it round into on coming traffic (they all missed me, I have no idea how!) and I mounted the kerb and completely stoved my suspension in and broke my alloy whell.....Bad news...

Cost me nearly £500 and I could have been just 2 minutes late for work with nothing said about it, I should have got my priorities right!

:o(

Sorry mate I was thinking naughty thoughts as my other half just walked past me half naked!

LMAO :o)

Matty.

SE have a load of wheels they have taken off various Z's incl mine. They are hanging on to mine and I could sell you one but it means breaking the set. They were in pretty good nick. Let me know.

cheers coogs !! I wouldnt want to break up your set but that is really nice of you. I will be able to find one without doing that, cheers mate !!

I've seen some for sale on

www.ebay.com

The were going for 100 us dollars for a set of 4 with tires. But that was a couple of days ago I think.

Hi,

Luke at The Z Centre had some Uk spec wheels for sale...You could fit the wider 8.5" rear wheels to the back of your car, and put an existing one on the front!

Hi Dan,

Check the For Sale and Wanted section on the forum - Dismantling 300ZX Twin Turbo Auto. AndyZ has 2 sets of 4 for sale - £90 for wheels (£180 with a set of Michelins). The other possibility is to put some "nicer" wheels on it - OZ SuperTs are nice, just look at mine!!! ;)

Go on, stick it on 18s!!!

Andy

i wondered who it was with the super t's id have gone for them had they done a dished type

I would love to stick on some new wheels, especially bigger ones, I quite like the Z ones but I have seen some wheels that are to die for.

I got this image which I would love to do but then it would A) cost shed loads and B) take it away from the original Z and make it a bit too boy racerie for me, that is just me though, lovely kit eh ???

Hang on a mo, I cannot attach the image, how do I, you guys have to see this Z !!!

How much would a set of 18"'s cost me ??

Dan

Dan, its time to get a loan matey!!! It cost me £1540 for wheels with tyres - expect at least £170 per wheel and then you've got the rubber...

All I can say is - do it! I was wondering whether to keep it original or go a bit further - I'm glad I put the 18s on now though!!! They fill the arches nicely as well.
