Just been looking a different thread involving an Austin all agro and it got me thinking, whats the worst car you had owned???

Mine has got to be a D reg red Seat Ibiza 1.5GLX (system porche) in my late teens whilst i was driving around Hanger lane on the A40 in London, drove past a stationery police car waiting at the lights and my passenger door opened for no apparent reason and smacked the front of the boys in blue. I stopped and they had a small chat with me, one bald tyre, faulty headlight and the copper tested it on the side of the road, and snapped the handbrake.

Gave me 3 points just for good measure.:mac1:

Fooking thing was worse than a skip, as they are worth money as scrap.

Who else has had what?

Mk3 Golf 1.4CL

About 5 or 6 years ago, I bought a horrid little J reg VW Golf MK3 with T&T for under £100 whilst my other car was having engine work done to it. What's funny is that I made £100 on it though when I sold it after I'd thraped the nuts off it. I was a little hard-up at the time, otherwise, I would have killed it as it was a hateful car. You needed arms of steel to change the gears in the miserable 4 speed gearbox and turn the wheel.

There were absolutely no redeeming qualities about this car what so ever.

I tried killing it by driving it through a river.

It had been modified by some girl who didn't really know what she was doing. Her boyfriend had removed all the rubbing strips and had slapped acres of filler and fibreglass into the recesses. I did have fun chiselling it all off and booting off the M3 Mirraz! 2 blobs over that washer jets which I had to hammer out. LOL. You can see the ripple effect on the doors.

you took pictures wilst driving it into a river? si your nuts mate
It's a right hand drive. :slap:

Hmm i had a renault laguna as a work hack for a bit, that was fairly poor. Paid £460 for it and it did me 12k, but by the time it came round to MOT, heaters had all failed, high pressure hose on the powersteering had popped, clutch was at best "intermitant" lol rear subframe bushes had dropped out (made it interesting in a side wind, it used to wriggle a few inches on the suspension from side to side lol) front brake disks were as thin as tin. So it went to the big scrap yard in the sky for £100 LOL

I have a mate who had a hyundai pony he paid £50 for half a tank of juice, ran it for 3 months and sold it for £60 with no juice lol...Problem was it would idle so to keep it running it had to be held at half throttle, full if it was wet lol

Also a guy i used to work with (he ran a computer company, networking and sold hardware etc) was once called up by an old customer stating that his hard disk had failed in his pc and how much for a 40GB hard disk (in the days that they were about £50 ish) after being told the price he mused and asked Dave, "would you accept a suzuki SJ413?" and so Dave became the proud owner of suzi...! He once called me in utmost excitment proclaiming he had overtaken a mopedist LOL. My god it was an awful car!

Yeah, it was fun. Shame I didn't have any video of it. Clutch was slipping like anything. I took it across a field after that. Mega fun. There was grass and mud all over the roof.

yeh pete, what he said that kim said about what si said... :wack:

either way... your still driving into a river!!!

:rofl::rofl:

my first car a vw polo 1.0 !! y reg in orangy red colour *shudders** i was working on the thing every week to keep it going!!!

i HATED that car!!!

Mercedes 2003 E220 CDi

Absolute heap of crap - broke my heart with injectors going, balljoints, cats front and rear, used to go into safety mode, sometimes stall, speedo stopped working correctly and the list goes on and on and on ... (all within 18months of me getting it - was 4 years old when I got it)

Never would I have a Merc again. Awful car and awful costly

Would not sell it around where i'm from so found a victim in Dublin.

1995 Vauxhall Cavalier 2.0 CDX

I bought it from a ford main dealer for £5500 and in the first six months it went back about twenty times for repairs.

It had three new ECU's (well I was told they were new), cambelt broke and it needed a full engine re-build, anti roll bar snapped, tyres would not stay inflated as the alloys had started flaking.

In the end I paid the finance company to take to away I was that fed up with it.

Ended up buying a £200 Astra instead and loved it.

That's odd. Not often you hear of problems with Cavaliers. Pretty robust cars. I've had two of them and they were reliable as anything.

my worst car was a fiat panda 4x4 in white i was 15 and driving back from a friends house i was using the back roads due to my age

but i had to go throu a town to get back to mine so i was driving away and a police car was coming the other way and i thought nothing of it but...

then the car decided it was time i got caught and everytime i moved the steering wheel the horn went off

whitch of corse drew attension to me and the rest is along story

so eventually the car and myself where home so as punishment for the car i put it into 4 wheel drive drove it up a verge and into a tree at speed and killed it

but at the time i was young dumb and full of cum and did not think about it hurting me lol

so that car made me get caught by the police and also gave me whiplash !!! got to be my worst car

never had a bad car but I suppose the worst was my dads austin maxi which I drove when I past my driving test didnt corner to well witch I found out one night when I drove it into a ditch had to get a tractor to pull me out it was my first and only accident in 30 years of driving

I have very low standards TBH   So i can't say i've had a bad car - if it starts and drives i'm quite happy lol.

I have a 2003 MG TF for sale tho and that is truely awful! The pedals, driving position and steering wheel are just oh so wrong! It runs ok tho :D

my first car a vw polo 1.0 !! y reg in orangy red colour *shudders** i was working on the thing every week to keep it going!!!

i HATED that car!!!

ha ha, my first car was also an oangy/red polo. it was the one with the boot and a spoiler as standard. It was older than me but i loved it, the cam belt snapped on the A1 but with a new one fitted she did another 6 months.

Hmm, a difficult choice...

The Rover 623 SLi which was lovely until the cylinder head decided to show us that it was made of marzipan. Couldn't find a replacement for love nor money and had to sell the car for £400 (cost £2000 six month earlier).

or...

Volvo 340GL which would quite often decide that it was tired and so conk out, only to start up fine a few minutes later. Spent a fortune chasing the fault but never found it.

or...

My current Vectra 2.0 estate which eats cam and crank sensors, pisses oil, crashes & bangs like a milk float going over a speed bump but WILL NOT DIE!!!

I went through a pug 106 stage when i first started driving, first i bought a 106 xsi as my second car thought it was the fastest thing on the road, got a deal with only 40,000 miles on the clock one owner, wasnt long till i changed all that, wrapped it round a lampost and had to be cut out, this happened during the fire strike so i was lucky they came to help me out, was stuck in there for an hour.

So after not learning my lesson i then bought another red xsi with a knocking bottem end didnt get far, on the way home from buying, it siezed locking up the front wheels on the north circ, got it home and dropped my old xsi engine in it was good as new. sold that annddddddd

Bought the daddy of 106's a 106 rallye the name gives it away, broke down every time i took it out. was in the garage every week , drive shafts popping out, crack in the block, excessive gearbox judder suspension bits falling off etc etc, but when it was working it handled like nothing else i have owned like a little go kart it was. for a 1.3 engine it did go some until i T boned a jeep at a cross junction.

After all that i was skint so i bought a saab 9000 for £150 turned the boost up all the way and blew the turbo in a week but i fitted a new turbo for 80, tried to start it and the ring gear had snapped.... lol sold it for £100

Frigging hell jimmy....lucky to see you here today !

for me it would prob have to be my 1st car - an orangy red Mk3 Escort 1.3 which for some reason I fitted the carb of a 1.6 onto and it used to spit flames out the airbox.....until I blew the engine up.

Fiesta Mk3 1.3, terrible terrible car. Bought it for £2300 in immaculate condition with 42k on the clock

Within 2 weeks rust had started to bubble through, and after stripping the paint back i found pretty much the whole rear of the car was filler.

49k the engine seized and the piston shattered into 13 pieces, block was scored so guess what, a month out of warranty i had to replace the whole engine at a cost of £750, all the springs and shocks went, £600, all the brake pads and front discs went, i had a slow puncture, the car was broken into twice, smashed the window and the lock the second time.

All in all over 2 years cost me £5000 and sold it for £900 :(

Piece of shite
