I have trouble falling asleep, dont nod off until 2/3am every night, and then I keep waking up, I also have to sleep wearing a full face oxygen mask, which doesnt help. anyway, my Doctor has put me on Temazepam (Sleeping Pill), the first night I took them I had the worst Nightmare I have had in years, so I dare not take them again.

Has anyone taken these before and had the same side effects??? :(

ive took them before, but not as you are supposed to, tripped me right out with a skinful of stella, we call them wobbly eggs

cant remember if i had a nighmare with them though lol

i dont know about nightmares mate but my mother used to take them and she never woke up when the next door neighber got his door kicked in and batted..also she said that theres no way she would wake up iff the house was on fire so she stopped taking them:nono: apparently they put you into a mild coma as your sleep is so deep so if i was you mate ide find other sleeping pills not as strong

ask your doctor for zopiclone 7mg, they'll get you to sleep. BUT be careful cos they are addictive.

Get yourself on Zopiclone Rich. I suffer insomnia quite badly. I've got a bad cold at the moment, so it makes it even worse. Zoplicone is pretty good. I rarely have nightmares and haven't at all with Zopiclone. I have quite bizarre and vivid dreams though and that's cool!

Only trouble with Zopiclone is, it's addictive. I'm currently trying to wean myself off them which is proving to be quite hard. Whilst my Zoplicone is prescription only and not a repeat, it's easy enough to buy from online pharmacists, so I am at the mercy of my credit card rather than my doctor.

I have tried other sleeping tablets, ones that supposed to make you drowsy, Phenergan I think it was called. Just made you drowsy and didn't knock you out. Ended up feeling tired all of the following day. Great if you're on the beach! LOL

I suffered from depression in my early 20s (for which I was prescribed citalopram), which may have been the route of my sleep disorder. I can't remember my sleeping patterns when I was a kid, so difficult to say, but I was also prescribed some mild anti-depressant a few months ago which are supposed to make you sleep if taken in small doses. That sent me absolutely loopy. Shaking, dizziness. Horrible. Threw them away!

Sleep deprivation/insomnia is one of the most frustrating things I’ve ever had to cope with. More frustrating than depression. I wish there was more that could be done for sleep disorders. I would absolutely love to be one of those people than can just fall asleep everywhere, sleep through anything and not feel tired and groggy in the mornings.

Generally, without medication, 2 of every 7 days for me results in no sleep at all. I rarely sleep through the night if I do fall asleep and wake up 2 or 3 times in the night. Takes me a few hours before I fall asleep. Zoplicone has been a big help, but my body has gotten used to them. So, end up taking higher doses, which probably isn’t safe.

Zoplicone is amazing for sending you to sleep if you’re flying long haul! I don’t mind flying at all, infact I find it quite exciting, but I do hate the monotony and claustrophobia of long haul flights. Last year however, I went without sleep the night before my flight (combination of late night travelling to Heathrow and the fact that the Madrid aircrash happened the day before!), but after take off (flying Heathrow-Los Angeles non-stop), I took 3 Zopiclone tables. Bom! Asleep. I woke up 1hr from the destination as we were crossing the Arizona/Calfornia state line. I never sleep on planes AT ALL, but I slept, unbroken for over 8hrs!!! Was really impressed; what with, I don’t know, but it was cool to be able to sleep that long as it doesn’t happen when I am on the ground!

Thanks for the advice, I will mention them to my doctor.

Used to ise Zopiclone but my doctor changed me to Zpoidem as Zopiclone gives a horrible taste the next morning, used to wake up feeling seriously sick for about the first half hour of each day :( Been on Zopiclone/Zopidem for 4 years now and still have the nightmares that go with these sleeping tablets :(

That's weird, I've never had a nightmare with Zopiclone. I've been on it for a year now. I've have some wicked dreams on them. Really weird ones. Never nightmares though. I used to have the odd nightmare before I took them, but very rarely.

I don't get the sick feeling and TBH, the metallic taste that you usually expect from this product, well, I've gotten used to it.

Are you sure Si?

No nightmares about attaching neons and chrome wipers to your zed?

i feel really sorry for you guys, i am 1 of those people who can fall asleep anywhere, only on the very rare occasion have i suffered a sleepless night and its horrible so i can only but imagine what its like long term, i am not a great flyer and i would usually take a xanax they make you sleep but i think are more an anti-anxiety and non addictive.

It's that metallic taste that made me feel really sick, used to hate it and I was only on half the adult dose.

I have really horrible nightmares but it's become part of life :(

That's one thing I am thankful that I don't really get. I can't even remember the last time I had a nightmare. It's odd, because when I do sleep, I actually have dreams I can remember....although I can't remember any now, because the memory only lasts a few hours and fades. Why is that? I'm fascinated by sleep, psychology and all that stuff. I wish I'd studied it at uni.

I suffer from SAD so i hardly have normal sleep patterns especially through the winter months and i get really tired at odd times of the day.

I've often thought of trying sleeping tablets but after being on a variety of antidepressants after a car accident I vowed i'd never take anything to affect my body again.

I can sympathise with the oxygen mask matey, my dad had to wear one to combat his sleep apnea and i know he had alot of trouble sleeping with it on
