wanting to remove the digital clock to replace with the boost controller any idears how to secure it in

I suppose you could try the brace straps they sell in halfords for fitting stereo's.

I heated a knife and kept melting away at the sides until it went in tight there was no need to secure it as it was a very snug fit.

if its a profec b, abit of dremel work an it fits very snug

I filed away very slowly until it just went in (very tight) and then just as a further measure a bit of masking tape on the backside :D
