Thought it may be interesting to see some photo's of real faults & damage that can occur to your zed rather than hypothetical conversations, also may be fun to have a guessing game, take a look at the following photo's, and see if you can guess what went wrong.

Have loads of these and hopefully will of interest for members to see what really transpires when these varied faults occur.

The background to this particular fault is as follows, a rebuilt engine from a small company with in house engineering cnc machining, heads and turbo rebuilding facility.

Car was collected from said builder and around 60 miles later the following was discovered after an engine noise was heard and seem to be getting worse, the noise was semi metallic with a scrapping noise in time with engine speed.

I've seen rotten ones before, but never that bad. At what point wouldn't it just be better to re-shell!

Seriously I dont know? so many owners get so attached to their zed to give up on their car is like a divorce or even a bereavement ! I have many more photo`s of corrosion issues will get a few together.

my worst nightmare at the mo. I stand guard with a pot of underseal and a brush ready to pounce on anything rust coloured.

Have absolutely none on mine what so ever and I intend on keeping it that way. The underneath looks like new. :D

Lies.... prove it

I have no photos of the underside. It's not like new, but very good for a Z. All of the OEM suspension parts have zero corrosion, the box sections, chassis rails, ARB, subframe etc are the same. They clean really easily too. I've gotta spent a couple of hours on it when I get a chance as I've not done it for ages.

I don't even think it saw much wet weather use in Japan.

I'd love to get in concourse, but I can't be bothered. Contrary to popular belief, I do like to get out and drive it in the summer as much as I can and I can't be bothered with keeping the underside mirror polished.
