the reason i have been quite the last few days

my friend called me up and asked me if i could work on his car so i said yea no problem

i went to collect it from his house and brought it back to mine to start work

it needs 10 plates welding onit at the moment but im sure i will find some more rust along the way as you will see from the pics im getting rid of all the bodykit from it

ive started the welding and also some of the body work

so far i have removed the smooth boot skin and started to fill on the wiper hole and a few other holes that where in the boot lid

changed the bonnet ect

this is what the car looked like when i picked it up

What a horrible car. Didn't realise Puntos rusted like that. I do remember when Unos and Stradas fell to bits within a few weeks of purchase though. lol

Looks like it might have been a GT turbo before it was ruined. Shame, these looked quite nice. Looks like your mate is de-chaving it though judging by the bonnet tailgate and rear lights which is a good thing. Those aftermarket great big haemorrhoid lights were dreadful.

Did he graft half a boat to it then or was that done by the previous owner?

  • Author

nope he did that to it im afriad but he is going back to a standard look for it now as he said he is fed it with people laughting at him at the lights hahaha

 not suprised with that snowplough on the front! Shame he ruined it in the first place. Quite a rare car those are now.

The back (how it used to look) reminds me of this.

the standard gt is getting quite rare now as like this one they have rotted and been broken for spares his engine is spot on and with what he is going to spend onit he might aswell keep that one

thanx very much :):)

Hope it gets rid of those awful headlights. What colour is he going for? Please tell me he's restoring it to its original yellow. If he did a concourse job on it, trust me, more people will look at than if it were to have components of the Star Ship Enterprise grafted onto it.

If ever I am at a show, I spend infinately longer looking at all the tidy and well presented original cars than I do with things with garish paint and fibreglass glued all over it.

  • Author

yea he is getting standard headlights the ones on there are his old ones

as for the colour well i dunno weather to tell you what he is doing lol

he is having it dont in white all over and then getting it wrapped to look like the italian flag :(:(
