Well I bought my 93 Z32 300ZX twinturbo last monday.

Shes getting serviced new EBC disk pads and brakes and tyre will do next weekand.

Shes 78k and the think its in pretty goos condition apart form hicas light on..is that a bad thing?

Mine is twinturbo dont no if i have the right bumper or not?

 

Looking at your pictures - you have a Non Turbo bumper on your Twin Turbo car, which is BAD unless you have a front mounted intercooler!

 

If you have original side mounted intercoolers, you need to get yourself a twin turbo bumper pronto! ;)

You definitely have a non turbo bumper on your car which will block the air flow getting to the intercoolers. Should look like this -

Any opinions are very welcome as im not great at mechanics so be me guest with them.

I believe i dont have the turbo bumpers now and its really annoying me coz i problaly wont be able to sort that out soon.. (credit crunch is bad)

And even worse is my temperature gauge stoped working a few days ago but already orderd one online.

I got this car cheap and i intend to make it imaculate bit by bit ebery time i can afford it

but its my every day car too wich doesnt make it easy.

Anyway this is a great forum and all you guys are very helpful and surely know what yous talking about so thats great coz i can learn from the pros :):):)

Your intercoolers are behind the bumper mate right where the slats should be.

In the traders section look for zedworld and i'm sure they can sort you with a TT front bumper :) They break zeds all the time ;)

I'm no expert however i do know that there is a high chance of detonation with the incorrect bumper and that can be very serious! You do NEED to get a TT bumper!

Any idea how hard of a job is to get a new thermostat in a 300?

And is the fan always working or is it just mine?

This car is showing alot more simptoms then i expected but so far wasent nothing major..apart from bumper.. new ones are quite expensive but im hoping to get a S/H so it should be cheaper.

Should'nt pay more than £50 for a used Bumper. If zedworld dont have any then SWZ parts had quite a few lieing around last time I was there. Not sure how contactably paul@Swz is now though as they are shutting down, but contact details are in traders section.

 

The Fan is viscous and runs permantly. It gets faster as engine temp gets higher.

 

The Thermostat is about 4-6 hours labour to replace, its part of the 60k service and should be changed with cambelt and waterpump.

Yes shes giving me a few bothers but I'm hoping its nothing to serious or I wont be able to cope with the costs but fingers cross :)

Well to be honest with you i think she was serviced for the third time when i sent it to service coz the state of filters was unreal but all done now.

i believe my engine is overheating but im not sure coz my thermostat ain't working.

the fan works so i dont understand why it was smoking today after a 15min drive :cry::cry:

Well zeds sent me an email and they looking 65 for a bumper plus vat and postage so i guess it will be like 110 all together just hope they have my colour.

well i got in contact with him and he as my colour and all all together is £120 thats with postage to N.Ireland think its a good price just hope the bumper is in goos shape.
