Hey all. was having a poke around under the bonnet of my new z when i noticed there was a pip that wasn't connected to anything. It looks like a boost/wastegate solenoid. it is on the battery side just in front of the battery and bolted to the inner wing. there is 2 pipes coming out of the top of it but the bottom of the 2 pipes isn't connected to anything. i will try and get a picture up later on. any ideas?

does it run rough on idle...... ther is a small brass pipe coming off the plenum that if that pipe has come off it it'll run very ragged when idling and lose power on revving

the idle speed does seem to have a mind of its own at the moment and just wandered if this could be something to do with it? it's the lower pipe of the 2 that isn't connected to anything. can somebody point me in the right direction as to where it should go. thanks guys

That's part of the PRVR system. Best bet is to bypass it by connecting the line from the fuel pressure regulator straight to the outlet on the side of the plenum that is currently connected to the solenoid. Once that's done you can bin the solenoid if you want.

hey John, thanks for your quick reply.... at the risk of sounding like a total nob, how do i do what you have just said (im still learning my way round the engine bay! will this pipe flapping about cause any running problems etc? at the moment, as you can see in the picture, it's just flapping around ontop of the battery!

The fuel pressure reg is on the passenger side of the plenum, rear sort of under the balance bar. Follow the small vacuum line from it to the metal pipe it joins. Follow this to the other end, it should then go onto a rubber pipe currently connected to the PRVR solenoid.

Just below the end of the metal pipe, you will see a hex nut on the plenum with another small vac line coming off it, also connected to the solenoid. Disconnect both from the solenoid then join them together.
