As I'm getting a list together of what I need to get for my rebuild. I have been looking at uprated clutch and flywheel.

 

Thing is not sure what one to go for. I've been searching on what other people have and have wrote about this subject and I am thinking of the RPS clutch and flywheel. With the different types I'm not sure which one to go for.

 

My setup will be GT28r turbos with forged pistons and conrods.

 

Would the sport street clutch be good enough or will I need the MAX street clutch? There seems just the one RPS flywheel from Z1.

 

Has anyone had experience with the Z1 clutch and flywheel combo with the 6 puck ceramic option?

Deffo the MAX street mate, the sport won't do your set up.

Yep RPS only do 1 flywheel, probably the most expensive on the market, but then it's somewhat different and gaurnteed, other 1 to consider the JWT flywheel, very good and less pricey.

 

6 puck clutches are more designed for the strip, they either on or off as a paddle clutch is, being 6 puck also means it wears out quicker and is more expensive to replace the disc when it's worn.

i personally went for the rps clutch and fly when i bought mine but jt did query why i went for that and not the z1 own brand jobbie which is considerably cheaper... my reasons were because after putting up a post asking for feedback about the z1 products i didnt get 1 answer as to how good/reliable they were so i didnt want to be the guinea pig!

 

though he did assure me that the z1 clutch was actually supposed to be better than the rps and the flywheel as good if not better! with prices/exchange rate the way they are now, i would seriously consider going for the z1 branded goodies...

I have been thinking about the Z1 combo for a little while now. I might just be that guinea pig :)

 

I wonder if I will get any useful feed back on the US forums between the RPS and Z1 combo.

Ive had an RPS max on 2 Z's now. The current one with hybrid turbos, 555 injectors etc. And it has handled santa pod and whatever other abuse ive thrown at it. Thats with a fidanza flywheel though. But unless i went mentle on power, thats the only clutch id have.
