Can anybody tell me what revs the gear changes happen, and maybe how many revs till it bites, and any other info to do with gear changes on an auto, during normal driving? (i.e. not flooring it, just driving about) I'm not sure if mine is right or not, it seems sometimes if I have it about 3000 rpm an 2nd, it just seems to rev and not get any faster at all, if i back off the throttle and then start again but a little more aggressive, it drives proper... Fluid level is correct...

Does anyone have a TT auto near Bolton who fancies taking me out for a spin, as I have nothing to compare it to, never driven or been in one before! :-)

have you got it set to 'Power' on the selector on the drive selector plate or have you got the overdrive switched off ?

Both of these will produce strange results in tinkering around town

Just something to add about the auto (from a fellow auto driver), one of the things I have noticed is when cold and for the first 5 mins is that the change holds a lot longer between 2nd and 3rd and when it changes you have to apply a little more throttle to keep the speed constant.

Like I said, after 5 mins smooth as a nut (think there must be some temp sensor or something), you will also notice that the overdrive does not kick in until nice and warm too

I've got the switch in the middle, and overdrive on, I have only pottered down round the block a few times, as it ain't MOT'd or taxed yet :nono:

And, the engine at least is always warm before I take it out, cos I usually trying to get it running right first, then check it. I haven't had chance to get on an open road and do 60 or 70 yet, it might be fine, could be me being a bit paranoid, but it just doesn't feel right.... Cheers guys...
