bizzarr cooling-gets colder when boosting up

ive had my twin turbo for about 2 months now, its been absolutely perfect,

will heat up in next to no time, hot air will come out and thats it

now then last week i headed off out for a burn and i got to a lenghty bit of road and after tha car had already warmed up (so needle is halfway) i dropped it into 4th gear and planted my foot, i then noticed as soon as my foot was down boost gauge went round, then the temp guage went right down, literally like quater of the way down. But i hadnt actually moved much more further for it to possibly cool itself down and not that quickly.

It cooled itself down as quickly as it boosted up, so i backed off and as soon as i back off its fine again and returns to halfway.

ive done the basics, checked water level, airlocks etc and theyre prefect, the heater never goes cold when this happens, always stays nice and warm. ive even checked the plug connections for a dodgy connection and thats fine.

now is this just a coincidence with the weather and that it just so cold out there its cooling it down, but surely it cant cool it down the quickly??

im really stuck on this, and am more worried if something major is wrong with it???

any help is much much much much appreciated cheers guys

its the connection. must be, look at the little pin on the sender see if its got play in it, u may need to hammer the little pivot back down. When you throttle the engine flexes and pulls on the loom so it might be pulling at the connection.

its not possible for temp to change that quick so it must be something eletrical. them stock gauges are known for being very inaccurate anyway.

seen this problem before...break in the sender wire and as the motor spools up the air off the rad fan pushes on the sender wire enough to lose contact and temp needle drops.. then motor rpm slows and the faulty wire re-connects and needle rises

Assuming the single spade temp sensor connection is ok as you say then there is a possibility the stat is stuck open, contary to what most peeps think the stat opens and closes constantly to regulate the temperature, also if this is the case, potentially the temp can drop low enough to cut the boost level back until the temp rises again.

But from experience the most cause is the temp sensor connection so really check this again.
