I've just whipped my plugs out to check their condition - I found they were Champion RC9YCC4. These don't sound right to me for some reason - aaaarrrrrggggghhhhhh!!!! Anyway, I've got a set on order form the z centre so they will be in the car asap. Has anyone seen these plugs before? Are they even "equivalent"? - I HATE that word!!! Any help much appreciated - I think this may even cure the hesitation but I'm not getting excited too early!!!

Cheers in advance,

Andy

Hi,

You shouldn't fit any other make, except NGK!...or you're asking for trouble.

I worked for Champion for about 1.5 years in the IT section. The plugs you had are (ouch) double copper - not even platinum....When I was there they brought out this 'Book of Life' about what you need for your car and the part numbers and that was indeed the plug they said the car should use - needless to say I went down to see my mate Kieran who does the 'Champion world driver rankings' and told what I thought of that bit of rubbish. He agreed after seeing it, I told him the NGK plug for ours and told him to at least find a match for that. Blow me if he did as well! I had 6 plugs for free on my keyboard the next day! I can find out the number of the plug if anyone is interested, I fitted them and have been running them for about 2 years now. No problems of any kind.

True story.

We got a lovely Ferrari 360 Modena in the shop while I was there - long before it was released to the public eye - They where testing cold weather plugs on it so they could have a plug specifically for that Ferrari. Lovely car - huge engine - huge exhausts. :)
