hi i still waiting for my z as it got some work to be done before i can collect it can some one give me some names of good cheap insurance companys. i got one from done deal at 500 full comp. i tryed again to on the web today just to see what was out there but got 1500 to 2000 from other companys and done deal was not there thanks

Be careful with Web ones as when you phone up they might not be the price you had on the web!

Post Office were around 200quid cheaper for me (was still 20 on my renewal) never know!

This is just stupid, i did an insurance quote on confused.com, cheapest price was 3120 quid... im paying 998 quid with elephant!!!

Tyre size recommendations

Use this site or similar to get the rolling circumference difference when you change wheel diameter and tyre profiles.
It will tell you how much the speedo will over or under read, and the difference in overall diameter to work out if they will rub anywhere.

Happy to say work on my engine block is now finished! Billet main caps were found to be up to 4 thou out of round. This time they have been machined using the ARP’s that will be used during assembly (unlike last time by EPR!)

Cylinders were rebored to suit my 88mm CP pistons and cross hatching angle, depth and surface finish all set up for the Total Seal gapless piston ring pack I have chosen to use. I think I’ll be the first person on the UK to use Total Seal’s gapless piston rings on a VG30, so I’m looking forward to seeing if the live up to the hype

Tyre size recommendations

Might be stating the obvious (to some) but something I didn't realise until I started trying to pick tyres for aftermarket wheels is that the profile figure - e.g. 40 - is 40% of the width.
So for a 255/40/17 tyre - diameter is 255mm, profile / side wall is 102mm (40% of 255), and radius is 17inches.
Learning this made it all make a lot more sense to me. I also have this graphic to refer to. Can't recall where I found it but it's now saved on my desktop!

I also wanted a chunky looking tyre with a solid side wall and after going 245(F) / 265 (R) , have since switched back to 235(F) / 255 (R) as I found the handling was noticeable more boggy and I use the car for fast road and track use. For ref, these tyres are on 18" BBS LMs.
