I have checked and replaced the bulb.

Have even swapped the light unit with the passenger side one. Replaced the connectors.

Here's where it gets wierd. There is 12V being switched on to the fog bulb but it doesn't light. The sidelight lights fine.

The earth is shared between the sidelight and the fog bulbs. If the earth was bad the sidelight wouldn't come on...

I have checked the fuse under the bonnet but couldn't find the fusebox in the interior (assume it's OK if there is one as one fog is on). There is a fog relay under the bonnet but can't easily test it.

Any ideas? I've spent hours on this and getting nowhere!

It's a '91 Jap TT.

For the interior fuse box try looking up to the right from the accelerator pedal (on the side kick panel).

Hope this helps

I haven't a clue why your fog light isn't working though!!!

Wierd that!

I had the same type of problem on my old 200sx, I lost my temper after doing all the stuff you mentioned and put it back in the housing screwed it in and booted it! never let me down after that.......Have no idea why it worked after the boot, Loose contection????

Wire is worn inside and probably cracked, needs to be changed, That's my theory on it!

maybe no help to you at all but thought I'd share my tail of woe.

Notice it wasn't on my Spanky new Z!!!!

Matty.

I'll test the relay at the weekend and try wiring the earth to the chassis temporarily to see if it lights.
