Looks like MAF connection if you cant take it over 2000 /2500 RPM

As far as i know, there also could be a number of other problems, ill wait until the experts get here :)

Have u checked all fluids? is it a UK or JAP import, as already stated could be the Mass AirFlow Sensor (MAF).

Edited by Phantom2080

maf doesn't put it in safe mode, but will stop it going above ?? rpm and will generally drive like crap and struggle with hills and such.

Another local Zedder :D

I'm currently at work in Wednesbury, right near The Coachmaker :D

Sounds like MAF though to me, check the plug is seated properly and the connectors are nice and clean.

Rob.

also worth checking the temp sendor switch and wiring as mine was lumpy idle, poor running etc and felt like it was holding back:smash::smash::smash:

was a combination of things but i found that my temp sendor wiring was faulty, as its all sensor/ecu based and relies heavily on the information from sensors...

turned out that due to faulty temp sendor it was overfuelling badly as ecu thought it was cold due to sendor not reading ,and in turn dumped extra fuel for cold start /choke settings

redone wiring and gained my smooth idle and performance back:hyper::hyper:

also cleaned the maf and fitted the delimiter device lol

worth a try mate you may be suprised

temp sendor has a great effect on performance as its the one the ecu uses to to adjust fuel along with other sensors of course

hi just had a look at it and reved it up 2 bout 6000rpm and it sounds like its missfireing as tho its a few spark plugs gone and when the revs drop down it pops you can also smell petrol at the back

pull the connector of with the car running, no change means its buggered.

if the revs change or it stalls its ok.

The spark plugs u were asking for will be NGK PFR6B-11C for a Standard twin turbo or NGK PFR6B-11B for a twin turbo running uprated boost

  • Author

how do i know if its running uprated boost the bloke i brought it off said it was running around 380bhp but not sure if he was telling the truth or not

Does it have an electronic boost controller?

Or were boost tips or welding tips mentioned when you bought it?

Do you know if it has been chipped?

  • Author

no he just said it was running 380bhp and he never said anything about that but after 2000rpm and all the way up to 6000rpm it rev ok but as soon as it drops back down it starts to play up again

its probably just a boost leak mate, do you have anybody local to give you a hand?

Try listening for escaping air and feeling around all the pipes for air, does it have dump valves fitted?
