i would have kept the sierra, a guy i know recently bought an RS500 in white ( no 33 ) with 9000 miles, its immaculate, he paid £29,000 for it!

Sounds about the right price, maybe even a bit cheap for 9k miles genuine RS500.

As soon as i saw this Z and he popped the hood i loved it instantly. But i agree, the cossie sale was a mistake.

yeah it is, i personally think its pointless buying anything non-turbo as a performance car... i said 'personally', hehe. First turbo i ever drove was an Escort Rs Turbo, that surge of power you get cant be beat, normal cars are 'boring' compared.

well the cossie seems lighter, certainly felt A LOT faster than my z, and the cossie was only 280BHP. The other thing is, everything on the cossie is simple, everything worked, it just went like snot and heads turned, less parts = less to go wrong, same goes for rs turbos.... in the Z heads turn but when they look round they see you under the bonnet fixing the damn thing...

Seems like im having a moan too, only because my Z is a fooking nightmare, mine is probably running about 120 bhp at the moment.... my 1.2 fiesta seem quicker..pretty worrying that is.

well nice talking to you mate, only thing is now it makes me wanna get an RS even more! happy new year.

Stock for stock, the 300zx TT has quicker acceleration, higher top speed and nearly 100bhp more than an Escos or Sapphire Cosworth.

As for the RS turbo being quicker? PMSL! stock RST only pumps out about 130bhp. Astra GTE 16v as quicker, has more power and a higher terminal speed.

I like RSTs (both Fiestas and Escorts....series 1 especially), but as a stock car, they are dreadfully slow and have no PAS. (even as an option)

haha, note the 'felt' in quotes m8 :) didnt say it WAS quicker.

hehehe

I had an Astra GTE, a 2.0 in a light tin can is awesome, handbrake turns very well.

haha, note the 'felt' in quotes m8 :) didnt say it WAS quicker.

I wasn't refering to you.

I've driven plenty of RSTs and they have to be quite heavily modified before they feel as quick as a Z32TT. They can be very punchy, but just can't make up the feel of the long hard pull of a VG30DETT.
