PCV valves.

ive replaced the pcv's and also the pipes now i think that its the valves or the piston rings thats the problem

also there is the dreaded creamy oil on the filler cap but not using any water??????????

could that be im not driving it far enough ???

i carnt be arsed todo an engine rebuild let alone afford it

man i should have joined this club before i brought the car!!!!

:headvswal

I was joking....I don't know what's wrong with your car. :wack:

So, your car is smoking. Under load/boost? Does it do it on idle? What colour smoke is it? Pop off the oil filler cap when the car's up to temp and see if fumes pulse from it.

The white puss could be mayo. How many miles do you do in it a day? TBH, VGs warm up quickly and burn condensation off quickly.

white smoke on a cold day which is normal

blue smoke when on boost over 3k

under 3k no smoke at all

on a normal week i only about 40 miles a week innit

So that's about 5 miles a day if you drive it every day? That's crap.

Does it smoke on idle?

i do 10 miles aday four days of the week and no it dosnt smoke on idle when its upto normal running temp

10 miles a day is still poor. I guess you drive 5 miles to work and 5 miles back again. Engine won't have warmed up for a decent period of time. Anyway, sounds like it could be turbo seals. Get a compression test done on it to rule out rings. You can check for blow by, by popping off the oil filler cap when the engine is up to temp. If there's no pulsing fumes and the oil pressure is good, then your engine is probably good.

when i remmove the petrol cap it relases an air build up is that good or bad ?

That's fine, I'm talking about the oil filler cap! I f**ked up in my post! LOL

  • Author

ahhh lol i will run it up tomorrow and have a look at what its doing

Make sure it's right up to temp! Drive it for about 10 - 15 minutes (Don't leave it idling from cold!)

i never leave my cars to idle does more halm than good !!

sorry to hear ur'e having more trouble bud , but id go with what Si said , get a compression test done to rule out the rings etc , and then get the seals checked !:)

Is it bad for the car if you leave it running without driving it?

10 miles a day driving in london is LOADS :(

Do that compression test and post up your results. WET and DRY!!!!

Is it bad for the car if you leave it running without driving it?

Driving it puts a load on it so gets everything up to temp quicker which is what you want, as engines only really wear from cold.

Very informative, and it goes agasint what I would have thought :wack:

When I finally get my hands on a Zed it wont be my daily driver, as I dont/cant have a car for work, so it will most likely be used on weekends and the odd evening. Im assuming the length of journey is more important that the freqency (within reason) of taking the car out??
