my car has not been driven for 3 months because it wasnt taxed, when i parked it up there were no probs at all. taxed it and took it out for a short spin today and there is something wrong, not the engine, but over 40mph dreadful vibrations and some kind of juddering from the rear passenger side i think, and the steering didnt seem to be working properly, any idea lads thanks.

Hi Tulip, check that the brake calipers have not seized after it's lay up, or the handbrake is not seized.

Hi Trish

Depending on the age of your tyres, after sitting motionless for 3 months you may have developed a flat spot or now have a slightly mis-shaped tyre, which will probably cause the vibration. If you have a chance to roll the car downhill in neutral, you may even hear or feel something at a low speed.

If it is a tyre then nothing major to worry about.

All the best

Graham

Maybe seized brake calipers, but probably collapsed /offcentre propshaft centre bearing and seized U/J's.

thanks guys i will have to wait until the weekend and get it up on a ramp hopefully but this gives me an indication what to look for.

off topic how global are we on here? i put a question up from ireland and i get replies from the uk, isle of wight and new zealand, class

Also, give it a spin, if it goes away when everything is warm, might be the prop centre baring.
