Hi all,

I've finally got round to buying a Z, a SWB TT from japan (still gotta wait 6 weeks to get it though).

I was just wondering if anyone knows how much the SWB weighs, as I seem to remember the 2+2 weighs slightly more than a sherman tank!

Cheers

where did this notion of the 2+2 come from on my shipping bill from japan it sez mine weighs in at 1500k am i in never never land here as that doesnt seem too heavy to me having said that with all the ice thats now in it along with my lardy arse (better add that before johnny does) it probably a bit heavier

Mine said the same as Tooley when it came in from Japan. 1500 is not much if you ask me what with all that power and gadgets on board. I think the other will not be much different.

the 2+2 in my book says 1540 kg . that is really not that heavy as all of the big sportscars weigh in at around this weight.

that can't be right because it can tow 1500kg so it sint goint to weigh the same as it can tow so it must be more

nope that is what it says.

an ant can pick up 6 times its own weight, so i dont think that means anything.

a truck that pulls a ten ton trailer does not wheigh ten ton's

God Daym,

I advice no ones actually tries to life their car with a 1500Kg lifting device or you get squashed to a pulp is heavily on the cards.

Can't remmember the exact weight but it is the ball park of 3650KG Daym heavy car, And the SWB wont be a great deal lighter at all!!!

Get a 3 ton jack to lift each end with to be on the safe side.

According to my archives the ZX has a kerb weight of 1605kg.

My Caterham is about 550kg so in the scheme of things the ZX is a bit lardy!

Simon (No Zed till the 20th!)

Ooops Acutally i got my lb and kg mixed up, Dam shitty day here.

3 ton lifting jacks are still the way to go tho, for those interested.

Bet my Z weighs less that Caterham of yours simon, It has lots of superfluous components removed :) .

My book reckons :-

Non Turbo:

3219lb for the 2 seater and 3312lb for the 2+2.

Turbo:

3414lb for the 2 seater and 3495lb 2+2 manual, 3516lb 2+2 auto !

No mention of a 2 seat non-turbo auto though, guess you can add about 20lb. Note these are Kerb weights.
