Hi all,

I want to get the best out of my new engine and have been told im going to need twin fuel pumps?

Has anyone done this or can point me in the right direction in what is involved?

Cheers

Dan

dan, you shouldnt need another pump, stock one should be adequate for the job.

smithy, they are gt28rs tubs.

i know alot of high power cars get like GTR fuel pumps or even Truck fuel pumps

(Heard a guy with a 900hp skyline had a fighter jet fuel pump!!) Good Luck :D

correct me if i'm wrong but hasn't mac done the twin pump route?!

Yes I have the standard pump was only supplying enough fuel to run 22psi of boost I did not want to up the voltage to the standard pump so I used the following

Border fuel rail running 850cc injectors.

Twin Bosch 044 group A fuel pumps (flowrate 265lpr) x2

Custom made SS swirl pot.

Aeroquip fuel lines and fittings from pumps to fuel rail

NISMO Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator.

Theres a lot of hight powered zeds out there on the standard pump, which is one of the highest flowing around.

What turbo's and injectors you running again bud ?

This might help http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=78096

I have Nismo 740cc injectors with a 300 degree fuel rail.

Cheers for your help everyone but im still unsure what to do with the setup i have not just the fueling

What you need to do is to run the car in and then get it on a respectable rolling road, and they will inform you if the car is running lean or not!

Well personally if it was me, for now mate i'd leave it.

When you finally get round to the mapping the guy doing it will identify if she's lacking fuel high up the rev range or at certain boost and bhp. If it is, you can add a higher flowing one if poss or go the twin route, either option won't require major work and won't effect the engine. That said, if he does think more fuel is needed, i would expect it to be at the upper limits of both the turbo's and injectors anyway, point am making is, don't expect a massive increase in power if more fuel is required and you do the mods needed.

Oh you have got an adjustable fuel pressure regulator though ???

cheers

Ok great ill leave it for now something off my to do list :hyper:

Still not even sure who would be good for mapping my car yet I hear so many bad stories and hardley any good ones.

Smithy I havent got a fuel regulator yet which one would you suggest?

Cheers for your help everyone:bow:

Well there are a few unbranded ones on the market, but for me it would be the nismo one. readily available and easy to fit, bout 100 bucks i think.

For mapping, try any of the respected skyline tuners around perhaps, these guys seem to know their stuff.

Richard bell at risingsun performance is southish and has a good rep ;)

Thanks Smithy I wouldnt of thought Skyline tuners would want to touch a Zed.

A few people I know with there high powered Skylines go to RK Tuning ill see if its possible he can have ago with mine when its done.

im running the same fueling set up as you Dan. 740's and 300deg rail. ive just changed my pump to a walbro but, only because my stock pump started to buzz. with a nismo FPR it still held 3.5 bar and could even go higher.

like others have just said, get it run in and set up, im sure you wont have any issues with it:)
