I thought I would share my crap day with you all because it makes you feel so much better when you know someone has had a crapper day than you.

My car seems to have developed a bit of a ticky lifter noise when ticking over so I lifted the bonnet for a better listen. Then I saw water running from the thermostat housing, I then stuck my finger in it and found it was petrol, a closer look showed it was coming from a little 2 inch hose under the throttle linkage. I had to remove the throttle linkage but one of the bolts is just covered by the cam belt backing plate so it wont come out, I had to use a dremmel multi to grind in a little scallop so I could get an allen key in. Then I couldnt get the linkage off without removing a throttle body which destroyed the gasket. I then went to the shop on my motorbike for some gasket paper but the throttle cable on the bike snapped on the way home so I had to ride home with my hand under the petrol tank pulling on the carburettor linkage. A small cut to my finger whilst making the gasket rounded off a super day..

Hope to do it again sometime.....

Paul
