I have non TT Jap import and the auto box for want of a better word is DEAD!! Everything was fine until this morning when I put it into gear and the revs go up but the car doesnt get any faster (well it does very slowly). Check the ATF fluid, was low but topped it up and same thing, so I think she is dead.

 

I am looking for anyone in or close to Notts that has an autobox they can sell me that is known to be good and also fit it for me. Just tell me how much for the whole job!

 

Am really desperate as I have no transport and my ex wife gave birth to our son today!

And congrats on the new arrival.

I havent got an autobox for sale but if you need some cheap reliable instant transport then my eldest daughter and me are selling a spare Metro GTI. Originally bought as a new project but now surplus to requirements.

£300 and drive it away. Mot till Jul and tax till end of Jan.

Its quite nippy as its the 1.4 Twincam engine but not up to 300ZX power.:) Gimme a call if you are interested.

Be worth draining the box remove the pan and clean out the strainer, chances are its blocked with debris. Of course the problem may return but a cheap option to try first and may just pay off.

Becase I know the box has definately had it! 100% gone!

With all due respect, you started off not knowing, and now you are 100% sure. But, from your description the filter could well be blocked.

 

And as Jeff says, it will probably not last forever but in your situation it might well get you going.

 

But, whatever.

Well the oil in there looks like tar and it smells like someones head after it's been on fire LOL. Think it's dead.
