Hi

 

I noticed in the last few day, when it got really cold over here that the car would take much longer than normal to warm up. i.e heating kicked in much later. ( car never over heated though ) checked the radiator this morning and it was almost empty. So, leaving the engine runing I filled the radiator up and waited for the thermostat to open. When it did a considerable amount of water was drawn into the system but as I refilled the radiator up to compensate it started to trickle water from under the car, right hand side when stood in front of it, about 5 -10 inches in from the front wheel.

 

I´ve had a cambelt, water pump etc change done about 10.000 miles ago and up until it got really cold here the car was runing fine.

 

anyone got any ideas or pointers please ..would be greatly appreciated

okay..think I may have solved it, jacked the car up, took the panels off so I could dry everything off and see where the leak is and i found that the bottom side of the upper radiator hose has split where the jubilee clip is and when under preasure or when you wiggle it it sprays a jet of water downwards...hopefully that´s all it is

What happened to mine was each time we repalced a hose the Water Pressure found the next week point and then problem all over again until all hoses, rad and Water Pump and Plenum bypass and expansion bottle pipe were replaced.... no problems since though..... fingers crossed

Mine's losing water like an old lady on a plastic chair at the moment, annoyingly it's the Kenlow copper temp sensor that just won't let the pipe clamp down on it which i've never had a problem with before.

 

Looks like i'll need some more clamps because filling it up every morning is doing my head in :(

 

The plastic rads on these are a pain in the arse, i've had 2 split on me so far, no such problems with my Koyo Ally Rad so far fingers crossed!

Ive currently got a kenlowe setup on mine and i have the same problems, planning on changing it in the new year because it stopped working so ive got the fan wired up so its on all the time just for now. where did you mount the temp controller to?
