Alright folks, ive been offered a fto quite cheap and was considering getting rid of the z and the escort and just having the one car. I hardly get to drive the z and its been faultless since ive had it.

 

I know ill regret getting rid of the z but has anyone any here owned a fto and would like to give me their thoughts? Do they rust in a particular lpace or have common problems that i should look out for? It has been parked up for a good while so ill have to take her for a spin and have a good look around it.

Ive always liked these,and can be picked for reasonable prices.......prefer the integra type r but there prices dont seem to come down much....

Im only going to go for it if its a steal, its been parked up for 3 years with the exception of a trip to the mot centre. The people who own it are a greedy /rich pair of buggers so they will probably rather it sat there rotting than take afew hundred for it.

 

On the other hand though id be propper gutted to sell the z, its just beautiful and so far hasnt missed a beat (crosses fingers).

my mate has had 2 FTO's and in compaerison the the ZED its nothing in comparison.. i know its prob down to personal taste, but i dont like them.. they dont look as nice as a zed, they not as fast, and they're a bit girly lol... !

Planning to get the Wife one soon, she really likes them..like a little Aston martin from the front. It'll have to be the GPX Mivec, so I get to have some fun when I drive it occasionally.

 

There not meant to be comparable to the zed though, Its just a small 1.8/2.0 FWD coupe.

That has occured to me having had a supra, 200sx and now the z. Im trying to compromise here but i should have known the fto wouldn't get much support from a you fenatics:xxx:

 

Ive had a look at the forum and seen the specs on the models, id have thought they would be pretty nippy cars though. All this talk of buying them for thewife/mum isnt inspiring

a guy at my local gararge has one, they are a nice motor and go well but cannot be compared to a 300 ! id have one for a second car if i could afford the 2

 

but my 2nd motor must be as cheap as chips!:D

I like the look of stock ones. Just a shame that A: They are FWD and B: They sound horrific with a big exhaust.

a mate of mine at work has one and it's pretty tidy - its the top-end GPX. 0-60 is 6.8 i believe. interior is pretty good and it pulls from rest quite well. as said, it isnt in the same league as the Z but for a sporty motor then its not bad

I think they look OK but they're not my thing.

 

I remember a magazine review a few years ago which IMO sums up the FTO........

Have you got an insurance quote yet, if i remember rightly they are not that cheap to insure.

theres someone on that forum that has a 300zx and is asking for cash or px with a FTO. nice looking zed with cram interior.

Had a quick look over the fto at the weekend and it became appart that it was fooked. Lotts of rust at the rear end so.... The zed stays.

 

With super unleaded at 89.9p i think she's staying with me. I would like the 300zx bit on the back to light up with the headlights, is there a kit you can get to do that??
