on my way up the M1 today I noticed a menacing car catching me in my rear view mirror. I pulled over to see a grey Nissan GTR pass me. V** GTR

I pulled in behind it and away we went. Now traffic was not the best so we were doing far less than motorway speeds. When the GTR got some clear motorway he floored it - I was suprised at my ability to keep up.

Over the next 30 or so miles we came up behind porsches, TVR's and all manner of wannabe super cars, all of which were dispatched as if they were 1L metros.

On arrival at our private test track the next round could begin. Clearly I had rattled the gtr a little since he couldn't pull away - (I don't mean that in a bad way - I hope he was having the fun I was) so the next round of tests proved that 50-100 it was pretty equal but a short blat from 100-130 showed the GTR to just have the edge over me in the higher gears - not something I am used to being a zed driver.

All in all, a fantastic days driving - just a shame I didn't see another 300zx all day.

He probably can't drive. As much as I think the Z has great mid-range power, the GTR is just imense and a whole life ahead of the Z in terms of stock performance. I know full well as I have had the pleasure of a GTR when I was in the US in the summer.

Good fun though I bet Steve. :)

that may be true, but he couldn't shake me... and yes - I had a big grin all the way home.

GTR, as in the R35 GTR ?

Yes mate, the first one I have seen on the roads.

unless you have some serious mods, I would guess he's running it in still ;)
