Over the past few weeks my starter motor has been fooking about.

Ive got a spare from my breaker to put on, but tonight the starter has had enough and being a complete bast**d instead of a turning sound its more of a whine and defo not starting. Im sure its now well and truly flooded.

Im changing the motor tomorrow, what do i need to do to get the fuel flood out. If after putting on the new motor i disconnect the fuel pump, with this dump the fuel ?????

POXY ZEDS are like marmite, either love em or hate em.

If the starter is whining, it sounds like it's not engaging with the ring gear, so surely it won't be cranking the engine and fueling the cylinders

Can you smell petrol from under the bonnet? I flooded my Zed recently and the petrol smell was very obvious.

If the fuel hasnt already seeped passed the rings and you get the starter motor fitted, then ive always used the "blow it out" technique" ie, pull the coils and spark plugs out and turn the engine over, and itll blow the fuel out the spark plug hole, crude but effective
