It saddens me to say it, but the only thing that will ever really work is when someone comes close or actually does cause an accident :(

Thats what taught me to drive carefully in the wet. Everyone told me be careful etc etc..... But i did'nt take a bit of notice, then i spun out off a round about with my little brother in the car and that woke me up! Never again! Wet conditions = me being very cautious.

Isaac.

Bloke turns into the car he is overtaking to avoid a little dog? What a mong!

To be fair though, the one with the dog, it shouldnt have been on the road anyway should be on a lead... for me in a similar situation fiedo would have bought the farm.

The one wit the kid and the van he just walked out into the road without looking so it wouldnt have mattered what speed the van was doing.. Infact if it was going faster he might not have walked in front of it??

The one with the car stopped on a blind bend, 80 or 150km/h he still wouldnt have been able to stop... infact at a higher speed he might have made it through the gap.

End of the day its all sad events but they are matters of circumstance thats all accidents are...

I remember watching a video, a badly done mock up, but the idea was at 20mph a guy walked into the road and go run down, the car at 30 was passed the guy before he walked into the road... Comical but made a good point.

Thankfully freak accidents like that are rare but its all down to driving to the conditions in hand, the road passed my house is 60mph yet its a winding country lane which people randomly stop cars on the pick fruit and rubbish like that so i dont drive fast down it however im legally entitled to!

Thats an extremely shocking and emotional bit of footage.

Its not a speeding video, its a road safety video.

and as for the dog thing...that's natural instincts unfortunately to swerve, you react before your can put your brain into gear.

All that you can do yourself, is to drive carefully, be aware of your surroundings and pray that some other idiot doesn't cause you to be involved in an accident.

If you're old enough to have kids who drive, just keep on nagging them to do the same. I know that I do.

That video should be shown on British television at peak time, it may make someone think twice before they risk their own lives, their passenger's lives and some poor innocent's life.
