Well, it's certain now - my shocks are done.

Anyone recommend a good replacement brand? I don't really want to lower the car. Would I have to replace the springs too? If not, would that be a good idea anyway?

Thanks all!

Hi Clark,

Try these guys in the US for Shocks: http://www.xpressmotorsports.com/

Or e-mail Jason Prenovost: jason@xpressmotorsports.com

Or Phone: 001 602 269 0804

I spoke to Jason a couple of weeks ago and their regular price for Tokico Illumina shocks was £300 for four but he said he was arranging some group buy so he could get them even cheaper.

Buying my AVCR from these guys and it's only £314 including shipping.

See ya

Eddie ;-)

I've got tokicos on mine, the single rate non adjustable version.

Nothing in the UK?

I'd rather not give those C&E b*****ds any business!

well rather them than any of the ripoff artists in the uk.

you can get the products cheaper in the states.

...so Demon Tweeks aren't the way to go then? :-)

i m not mentioning names but i would get the product and use darren to fit it,

thats probably a safe conensus

Hello Clark,

First things first, good idea by Warren.

I'm fitting them myself but if you want a professional, Darrens's the man. Make sure you take the trim off in the rear so he can get to the rear suspension bolts. (Craig can vouch for that.)

It is quite time consuming getting all the trimming off so its worth doing it prior to the install.

I bought mine for 150squid for 4, there stocks off a 300 that was being broken. Made sure they weren't knackered before I bought them.

Good luck.

Clark,

you dont need to change springs unless you want to lower the car, so you just have to decide whether you want a hard, soft or adjustable ride.

My KYB's are good, adjustable and reasonably priced. Buy from got_rice on ttnet, lymon can vouch for him as well, see the "good things..." forum.

Darren can certainly change them for you. We did mine (springs and shocks) in half a day, with me removing the boot trim while he did the fronts. As George says, it is quite time consuming finding and removing all the different screws and bolts.

Tokico do some adjustable and non adjustable, not sure how much firmer than stock the non's are.

George, aren't your shocks fine ? Just too hard a ride for you around town ?

Clark, maybe if you want a harder ride, you could do a deal... ;)

Jonny at GPS can get Tockico and Eibach sets They are about as good as any.

Dont get stock the suck and are mushy as hell.

Z ya

SE do Tokicos and they're own springs with a slightly lower drop than the Eibachs.

Thanks all!

I'd love to let Darren have a look at my Z, but I fear he's probably a bit far away (from Belfast) and the list of problems might exceed my non-existent budget.

I think I'll have a go myself - might even change the bushings while I'm at it!
