I personally use Mobil1 0-40 :D

Also it maybe worth your while, asking Oilman on here and he will give you any answer you require :D

101 people will give you 101 different answers. Personally i use any Semi-Synthetic (last change i used Castrol Magnatec) 10W-40, as that is what it recommends in the owners manual.

My car is totally stock. I can appreciate that people with modified cars go for different oils, but if 10W-40 was good enough for Nissan, then it's good enough for me.

can anyone explain the advantages/disadvantages of the different types? The impression I get here is just use anything as long as it's oily!

Ask Oilman - he can tell you EVERYTHING you would ever need to know about oil :D

The importance of oil is very often overlooked. There are probably several threads on here by the Oil Man, they can get a bit technical though if you just think of oil as something oily, lol.

In very simple terms:

Fully Synthetic, lasts longer, protects better. Costs more but is the only way to go.

Lower number, ie the "10" in 10 60, referes to cold performance, the "60" to high temp performance.
