Car was iced over this morning,so started up the engine,shut the doors and started deicing.....went to open the doors to put window wipers on,but shock horror the bloody doors wouldnt open!!!..The car decided to lock themselves!..never happened before and i do this most icy mornings....got a spare key so wasnt a problem....These cars!!:)

Have you got autolock function on alarm - locks doors after 30 secs of engine being on then unlocks when engine switched off

i suppose i may have accidently hit the door lock switch.......ive had the car 5 years and never managed it before....but these things do happen!

I always put my drivers window down about 150mm to be safe as mine does lock me out occassionally. I now have a basic key which I had cut locally which opens the door but does not start the car, obvioulsy a poor duplicate.

I better get a spare key cut myself... I noticed that after I start my one and the doors are closed it locks automatically. Never thought of the problem I would have if I closed the door and me outside the car :eek:
