I got in touch with the guy based on the original thread on tt.net and he's given me a call back today.

 

They're looking for another 1 or 2 standard (ish) cars to help them out next Monday, 8th December at 12noon till 2pm.

 

Location is

Transport Research Laboratory

Crowthorne House,

Nine Mile Ride,

Wokingham,

Berkshire,

RG40 3GA

 

Essentially it's a runway and they'd like to do some hard accelaration runs and record some parameters to help their investigation. They're looking to cover you're fuel and maybe even replace your tires!

 

Let me know if you can make it so I can pass on your details. Need names asap really so they can sort out their insurance, security access etc.

 

I can't go myself as I'm busy at work and my Z has been modded too much :rolleyes:

I have a T/T auto with coil-overs s/s catback and CAI but thats about it :dance:

Tyre make and model with speed rating and load rating information (to replace the tyres - if you have a mixture, please list only one make and model of preferred tyre):

PS they'd rather get the cars there on the day so will take modified cars too.

If only I had a days annual leave left I would be up for this.

 

I could use a set of tyres :)

Will they cover the fuel from Plymouth? :D

Woohoo, just spoke to the nice policeman, sounds like going to be excellent fun...cant wait and the tyres get replaced after the test as he says it will involve some wheel spinning and might damage the tyres so couldnt possibly let us drive home from there without replacing tyres:nana2:

do they know how much these tyres cost?! I can't quite see what they can find out from this activity that is helpful enough to there investigation to warrent the cost!
