Stock boost gauge...

Hi, my stock boost gauge is not working, well, it twitches a little when I rev the engine, but that's it... I will be fitting an aftermarket one at sometime, but would like the original to work, can anyone tell me where the pipes etc. or whatever could be causing it are located, or if it is a sensor?

    Stock guages are useless, the pick up for it is at the back of the engine bay on drivers side, theres a pipe that comes off the balance bar to a black box.

     

    Tha guage is electrical iirc
