heya everyone, ive just registered as i bought a TT a few weeks ago and am so far enjoying my project. Have owned so far a tuned civic, an mr2 and a supra non turbo but this one i fell in love with the quickest.

my first question (of many) is this....

my headlights are crap, ive noticed that there are lots of complaints along the same lines. had them checked by a garage today to find out why they are so dull and was told the electrics are fine and that i will need to change the actual headlight units as he thought the reflective-ness has melted away... someone suggested in another thread that they could just need cleaned out.. can i gain my light back by cleaning without taking the lights out?? please help as obstructions are more of a surprise when you cant see them:headvswal....cheers paul

You need to fit HID bulbs which really make a difference. DTA in the Traders sction can help with supply. The best version I feel is th 4000k which give a brilliant white light. The higher the number the bluer the light will be. Certainly clean the lens up as well.

yeah, i thought that too, was told by the garage that the problem wasnt the amount of light but it was the way the light was displaced...he said the HID's would be brighter but the pattern would still be rubbish and so wouldnt solve the problem

Well mine did, they burn people alive now!

It's not just the fake hid bulbs you need tho, need the proper kit

thats awesome cant wait to cremate those damn pedestrians and hopefully licra shorts clad cyclists too....how much would a set of these bad boys set me back..heard the cheapies on ebay can be unreliable??

HID's definatly, but Cleaning them would be a big benefit too. You will have to remove them and strip them to clean though.

bought a set of uprated super white bulbs of e bay ,improves things a tad!!

,but intend to go down the HID route also especialy after seeing the light they threw out on a fellow members car it's defo the way forward!

Best only use HIDs on the dipped beam, leave the main beam. But you can get 100 watt bulbs for those but they'll hardly show against the HIDs. You could also upgrade the foglights to HIDs
