I came across the following link when I was thinking about eventually changing my stock intercoolers. It may be useful to anybody considering doing likewise. It may not have all brands but it covers quite a few. From the date on the post, it is around 2 years old, so there may have been further developments from each manufacturer but I doubt it.

Hope the link is of some use.

There wont have been any developments since, most of those manufacturers developed there products over 10/15 yrs ago and havent looked at the 300zx since.

Hi Al,

Whats the turbo lag like? Have you experienced a difference in that respect over the stock ones? (Question is to help my understanding, not to look for faults in somebodys choice)

How much are the Godspeed ones and would you recommend?

Thanks.

I'll let Legrath, j1mmytt or some of the more knowledgable contributors answer that question. I'm a novice I'm afraid.

In the link, the contributor raises the question of the Apollo FMIC and goes on to say that the design of "this" FMIC goes against the natural design of the VG30DETT.

Now is it being suggested that the SMIC's are the better option for our cars, based on the original design than the FMIC's?

Are all FMIC's designed the same? I expect that they are but I'm not sure.

Wow that is interesting!!

I have an Greddy FMIC which may be as good as i originally thought for my setup.

But would switching to the Ash Spec really be worth the money? Are the benefits really that noticable??

I would like to replace my Koyo with an Ash Spec Rad also.

How do know "know" they are doing the job well or better than others other than just assuming?

Have you had tests done?

Not doubting you just wondering how people guage something we cant monitor or really judge without long expensive testing?

Just to give you a heads up mate. I ordered a Ash spec rad march 2008 and it took over a year to turn up. I had a lot of problems contacting him etc. Do a search here and on the US forums.

He may have got better recently as there was someone else responding to my emails.

Just thought I would let you know and it's up to you at the end of the day ;)

Cheers,

Ant
