Following Simon's permanent ban from the club last week' I received his formal appeal and presented it to the rest of The Committee, so that we could reconsider our position on the matter. I can confirm that Simon's case (and the grounds for his appeal) was discussed among The Committee in a fair and just manner; and the matter was put to the vote. With the poll now closed, The Committee has voted that Simon's permanent ban shall remain in force. As many of you have noticed by now, FunkySi was handed a permanent ban from the club yesterday evening. Many members know Simon and we are all familiar with his presence on the forums. He was indeed a popular character who made several friends in the club (me included); and he possesses a great knowledge and enthusiasm for the Nissan 300zx. However, as popular as he was, The Committee has (on several previous occasions) received complaints against Simon; because many members have felt offended, intimidated and even bullied by some of his acerbic posts. As usual the Club Awards will take place at this Years Japanese Auto Extravaganza. Voting slips will be handed out on Saturday, and the Awards Presentation will be on Sunday around 12:00. Over the last few Years the Committee have been aware that with the Categories being how they were, had the same people winning all the Awards (And rightly so, as they have awesome Zeds). Following a recent review, and after discussions with those concerned, it was agreed that Kim and I are more suited to each other's positions on The Committee. Consequently, with immediate effect, Kim and I have swapped roles. Kim has returned to the position of National Events Organizer (a role in which he has always performed a sterling job, planning JAE etc in the past); whilst I have been appointed as the new Club Secretary.
