....Jeff's thread got me reminiscing over the old Network Q / Lombard RAC rallies of the 80s and 90s. You know what used to really give me the buzz and get me in the 'zone', was that theme tune! As much as I still love the WRC, the older 80s and 90s days - Group B aside, I hold more fond memories of this era. More manufacturers, more excitement. Reporters Tony Mason, William Wollard and all of it. ....but that theme tune! Play loud and think of Mitsubishi Galants, Lancia Deltas, Toyota Celicas and Escort Cosworths! Original tune was buy a group called Propaganda and their tune Jewelled and was remixed for the series.....remix version below also. Or…

Well after snorkeling in the red sea last week, the missus decided she would like some tropical fish and the boys would love them too, her idea was to get some Nemo type fish because we had seen them in the sea lol, but i told her keeping salt water tropical fish is alot more involved than freshwater tropical fish. While we were away she wasted the wifi on trawling facebay for a tank and before we got home we had bought one and was being delivered the day after we got back. So we got as a starter set up a Marina 60 tank on a stand and after a few days of water treatment and running the pump/filter it was ready for some fish  To start we got a couple of lit…

Ok this is an old vid now but always a good watch, pity its poor quality to today`s standard but you can almost taste the tension, and as a previous owner in the day of a SD1 3500se I can tell you the brakes were crap! you cannot doubt the police drivers commitment to delivering this donor organ to save another persons life though, that cop certainly earned his wages that day! Chanced across this video on youtube of Tony Pond attempt at a solid 100mph average around the Isle of Man TT course, bear in mind it was filmed in 1990 so a bit naff, but boy can this guy drive, we all have fun on the road where it permits but on what looks lime B road size and condition he has no fear, 150 mph down straights and 120 mph round the corners!! bumps and rises, dips and curves the guy seems so cool at the end like he had been for a paper down the shops, very Nigel Mansell esk with his down play, the amazing thing is he is driving a road car with just slicks on .... a Rover 800 Vitesse (skip the first minute blerb) http:// Jeff TT

So I've had cctv on my house for a while now but lately i'm thinking of changing it all and going digital. At the moment I've just got one 600tvl night vision dome with a dvr unit that records on motion which gives this sort of picture : Quality wise its no better than an old tv at pal sort of resolutions. The plan it to get two of these babies : They are 1.3 MP IR cameras that power and hook up via cat5 cable and rather than using a dvr i'll record directly onto my pc using the free software that hikvision provide which is rather cool. The cameras are about £130 each but the quality should be great and its protecting my investment c…

...But whenever I open a web page now, be it searching for a recipe or to watch a YouTube clip or the like; or even opening up Yahoo's home page, it seems that the 'net is consistently bombarding everywhere with bloody adverts... I don't so much mind the static ones in the background - as long as they stay in the background and do not enlarge if I happen to run the mouse over the tiniest of corners - but the bloody 30 second video clips that precede a news story (especially if you can't "skip" them) really get on my nerves..... I know companies have to hock their wares; and the web page owners have cottoned onto a money spinner, but really? It's just too mu…

I've been smoking now for nearly 18 years, why I started I will never know! I've been thinking about giving up for years but lack of will power has always stopped me trying. The time has now come for me to actually give it a go! I signed up to a quitting program with boots yesterday to start today. I didn't expect it to be easy but f**k me do I want a fag so badly already! My other half has also signed up to the program but she isn't going to start till tuesday (don't ask me why). She keeps sneaking out for fags today thinking I won't notice but as soon as she comes back indoors, its all I can smell!!! I know success is all down to will power so I am going t…

The mrs car (not the mrs  ) Quick run down on my Dorsey mrs and her mother, we were in the car the other day with her mum driving, and she goes "Oh look, that engine light has come on again" Not panicking or worried she just carried on without a care in the world, "Did you not think to tell me that the most important warning light on the car was coming on? And how long has this been happening?" I asked her. They both had a debate and decided "ohhhh ummm a few weeks on and off, but it goes off most of the time" FACEPALM Well it's going the Lee Dents place to have some work on it anyway so I'll ask him to have a look, the original work is …

My other half was at the paint shop today. They had a corsa in that had been dipped ( using the spray not the film ) the people who applied it said it would just peel straight off. It took a lot of paint with it! It's welded to the plastic and rubber trim It's in all the nooks and crannies! Nightmare!!

Looking for some rim protectors for the ds3 and saw these:- http://www.amazon.co.uk/Citroen-Alloy-Wheel-Protectors-Rimblades/dp/B00BEGQDY6/ref=sr_1_81?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1391447634&sr=1-81&keywords=citroen+ds3 Seem very reasonably priced, do the tyres have to come off the bead for these to be fitted? Or is it a DIY jobby :)

My bodyshop guy named my zed ED-209 from Robocop while he was doing my front bumper. Thought I might do a picture for him... Got this picture and I want "ED-209" written across the lower right quarter. I've tried doing it myself by just writing in in a retro style font, but it just looks awful. Can anyone throw a bit of talent at it for me please? http://imageshack.com/a/img829/2310/79ys.jpg https://imageshack.com/i/n179ysj

My dad bought an electric bike about 12 months ago and used it a handful of times and now isn't well enough to use it anymore. He paid a daft amount for it, but what is it worth now? Is anyone interested? Here's a link to the site he bought it off http://goldenmotoruk.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=59&product_id=51 Here's the bike itself. He's got the original suspension seat which is as new included, he put this sporty seat on it when he got it.
