Well finally decided to not be too silly and not get a toy but to get a better car for my daily use for work and play :) Needs to be diesel, needs to be an estate for the dog but needs to be a bit more involved than my laguna LOL Pretty much got it down to 2 types of cars Audi A4 Avant 2.5 Quattro - 180 bhp or BMW 330D Touring - 204 bhp Now i know the bmw is more powerful but it also does less MPG than the audi and the bmw is alot smaller inside the boot area, then again i only have the dog to go in there, its not like i shift coffins  So unless theres anything ive missed on the market for around £15k ish then which ones the best one?…

It's hardly a garden - just a three foot wide strip of ravel separating my house from the pavement. About every week or two a new dog sh1t appears and I have to get rid of it? Any idea how to stop it? If I knew the dirty **** that owned the dog I'd happily empty a bag of my own shyte through their letter box. :mac1:

The suspicion was elaborated in a later history by Sir Thomas More:- “ On the night of October 11 while lying in on a bed [the king] was suddenly seized and, while a great mattress... weighed him down and suffocated him, a plumber's iron, heated intensely hot, was introduced through a tube into his secret parts so that it burned the inner portions beyond the intestines. ” It was rumoured that Edward had been killed by the insertion of a piece of copper into his rectum (later a red-hot iron rod, as in the supposed murder of Edmund Ironside). Murder in this manner would have appeared a natural death, as a metal tube would have been inserted into the anus…

I had a new customer (member of the public, not a business) pay me (Limited company) by cheque for a job last week. Cheque has been returned to me today marked as "Stopped" The customer seemed very happy with the work carried out and I've heard nothing from them since. I've also been charged 4 quid for the privilege! It's not a great deal of money but it's the principle as far as I'm concerned. I've called and left a message on her answering machine this afternoon. Any (sensible!) ideas on the best way I should handle this? CheerZ Steve :)

CAE systems is one of my customers who look after a very high tech and expensive set of helicopter test simulator rigs at RAF Benson near Oxford. The rigs are operated through some very high tech computer systems and hydraulic motion control gear which my company support(through our fluid power division, ie, myself). Anyway, went along with a colleague today who has a good working relationship with one of the project engineers there who let me have a go in a Chinook Flight simulator. There are 6 of these there, 3 being Chinook and 3 being Puma. Absolutely incredible piece of kit. A complete copy of the cockpit with fully working controls, complete surround visio…

Right, I sold my Laguna on Ebay last month and had the fee through for the advert. Paid it off via paypal and got confirmation from them that a transaction had been completed. But never got a receipt from ebay. A week later I get an email saying my account was now overdue. Now, wanting to sell something on there in a hurry, I tried paying again to try and sort my account out and get the refund for the first payment at a later date. So, I send money via paypal AGAIN. Check my seller account and it's still showing outstanding payment. Pissed off now, so email ebay. No response. Email paypal and nothing. Anyone know what I can do? I'm getting slightly hac…

I'm currently designing a snorkel for a Land Rover Defender but hopefully with a difference: a built in air filter. I was going to build a housing for K&N's brand new, state of the art, enclosed filter (as I've got one already) but it's a pricey bugger and ideally I'd prefer to be able to fit a filter in the existing pipe work without having to fabricate anything else. As the majority of car filters are quite large they won't fit in the 3" diameter pipe. The ones that do, like one from ITG's range, work out to be as expensive as the Apollo. However, it's been suggested to me that bike filters might be the way to go. Someone suggested filters for Harleys due …

Hi, The new Lexus looks a nice car!.... "The all-new 2008 IS-F will target the BMW M3 and Audi RS4, delivering 417 horsepower and 372 ft.-lbs. of torque from a 5.0-litre V8 engine. It will eventually be offered as a two-door coupe, as well....The IS-F engine is mated to the world’s first eight-speed "direct sport-shift" transmission...In Drive mode, the IS-F transmission performs smoothly, and the torque converter allows for quick 0-60 acceleration in less than 4.9 seconds." http://www.leftlanenews.com/2008-lexus-is-f.html

I don't use Ebay that much, I've bought and sold a few things but nothing major and I certainly don't know all of the tricks and traps. I recently bought a second hand MOMO steering wheel from a woman who described it as in perfect condition accept for a slight scuff on the centre boss. It arrived today and, yep, the scuff is there (albeit slightly larger than she made out, but no biggie) BUT, there's what appears to be damage caused by a sharp object in the form of a noticeable 1 inch cut on the outside of the wheel. I really don't see how this could've happened during transit so I emailed her, very politely, to tell her, and, giving her the benefit of the doubt, s…
