my laptop wont shut down, i have had to just switch it off twice this week, i get the shutdown prompt when i do the usual closing down, but it does nothing any ideas as to why this is happening????

Can those in the know tell me in plain english what a driving license endorsement LC20 would mean? LC20. Driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence Is what a bit of googling tells me. Does it mean driving when you dont have a license for that type of vehicle or does it specifially mean what I suspect - Driving while underage ?

Hi all, I have just sent a load of old home cine films (Super8, etc) away to be transferred onto DVD. I'm not having any fancy editing or "enhancing" done during the transfer as I'd like to have an original "copy" so to speak. However, I can see value in trying to tie together footage of a few reels onto one DVD, for which I will require DVD editing software. I haven't done this before so am now researching what my options are. The DVD file will be in the "VOB" format and should be editable with software. I've had one recommendation so far for Adobe Premier Elements 4 but looking at the various reviews on the net it seems to be riddled with bugs, etc. Also…

Need some recommendations for horror/scary movies. Have watched the usual eg Saw1,2,3,4, Texas Chainsaw Massacres, WolfCreek, Wrong Turn, Hard Candy, The Grudge, The Ring, Hostel 1 and 2 etc etc Any more that i should be getting hold of................. Whats the best way to split an 18MB rar file for e-mailing it, I have tried sending it and both times it was returned. Is there a splitter tool or something like that to make the sections smaller. Cheers John

Hi guys, This is one for the more IT minded amongst us. I've been thinking of upgrading the CPU in my PC as prices have generally come down quite a bit. At the moment I'm running an ASUS A8V Deluxe KT8K800PRO MOBO with an AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (single core/Socket 939) CPU. The PC is reasonably fast but not great at multi-tasking when I've got more than 5 apps open at the same time (despite having 4GB RAM installed). According to some research I've done (online) about this particular MOBO I should be able to install an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ S939 CPU. Now this is where I will need some help. I'm looking to upgrade my processor on PC. I'm currently running a Pentium 4 2.0Ghz 400Mhz Bus Speed and 512 Cache... Is it possible to fit say a 2.8 Pentium 4 with a 533Mhz Bus Speed and 1M Cache or do the bus speed and Cache have to remain the same as what i've got already??? Many Thanks!

I was out in cardiff bay last night having a meal with chips. The waitress gets the red sauce for me the heinz glass bottle one. So i decide to shake it up, only when im doing this do i realise i dont have my finger on the top, "oh no" thinks i. Heard this week that friend of mine was killed in a car accident this week - the cause of death was not the accident itself but the airbag. What happened was that she was a passenger in her sons car and had her handbag on her lap - when the airbag deployed the handbag was forced under her ribcage, breaking some ribs, which resulted in a punctured heart and other internal organ damage. The son survived with minor bumps and bruises. So the advice is - don't have anything on your knee if traveling as a passenger in the front seat of a car with airbags. Safe motoring everyone...........................................

Hi folks Can anyone recommend a good soundcard for vista,got a onboard 7.1 but it wont work my 5.1 setup even though it says its compatible however would prefer a separate card,always had soundblaster in the past but when i got vista that wasnt supported either...alongside most of the other hardware:rofl: cheers
