I have 2 large electro magnets that ime using for a project at home..they are rated at 207vdc. Ive been driving them with 35vdc as thats all i can achieve and allthough still very strong at that voltage they will be monsters with 207 volts running through them,so my question for our Electronic heads is whats the best and most reliable way to convert 240acv to 207dcv?? ime thinking something along the lines of a DC motor speed controler..is this right?

It's been reported that Lynda Bellingham (the Oxo mum, for anyone who's not familiar with her) has passed away following a battle with colon cancer. She may not have been a huge star or anything like that, but what makes this incredibly sad for me is that she recently decided to stop all her treatments for cancer in November as she wanted to effectively choose when she died. With that in mind, she wanted to die in January next year as she wanted to have one last Christmas with her loved ones. So very sad that she didn't live to achieve what I think was a very noble and touching last wish. :( RIP Lynda.

HMS Caroline is a WW1 battleship that has been docked at the Titanic docks in Belfast for many years I have taken photo's of it for a long time now and at last it is going to get restored. While im rebuilding the Yellow zed and deciding where im going with the TT, i had to get rid of the scenic as it was falling apart and i hated every day of its ownership lol about 3 months and have now got myself another V6 toy. Hyundai coupe 2.7 V6 tiptronic, in silver, got all mod cons and feels like a brand new car, which im pleased about, but no where near the fun or the grunt of the zed lol

Friends tell me that I worry to much but I can't help taking notice of thngs that go on in the world around me and then wonder why they happen! OK so the latest one that's bugging me When Sainsbury's announced profits yesterday and they talk about like for like sales excluding fuel (petrol) and I suddenly realised that when all supermarkets announce sales results they always exclude fuel So why is that then? I mean what is wrong with the fuel sales and why won't they tell you what they are - even if you were interested? But they all do it..... excluding fuel.
