ok following on from the 'would an aircraft take off if it was on a conveyor belt?' thread, i still cant get my head around how a car travelling along a road at 50mph could drive into a lorry (via its ramp) without shooting forward and through the front! fans of Knight Rider will know what i mean. those two chaps from mythbusters tried it themselves and proved that it does actually work and isnt a fake. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=dYlstdCWzCY&feature=related although interesting to watch, i dont think the guys explained it well enough for me to understand. the only thing i can think of is that once the rapidly-spinning tyre rolls onto the relationally st…

My best mate rang me yesturday to talk, didnt realy say much but was obviously upset. Turned out he had been keeping some money in the house which he was saving to develop another house he had bought. 60K in notes in cash register. Over teh past few weeks he has been having a tough time with his 15 year old son, who he suspected of dipping his moms and into his money. So he changed the box over. Yesturday I get a phone call he is beside himself, his son has answered teh door and 2 masked men have bursed in, beat him up and taken teh cash box which was hidden. They didnt take anything else in teh house, just the box. Something didnt add up and my mate put 2 …

i took my angle grinder back as it burnt out after just 6 discs use....the thing smoked like a bugger and almost went up in flames...so packed it up and went back to get a replacement..the guy in the warehouse says we have to test it before doing a swap...i said on your head be it as its ready to go up in flames...anyways he nods sagely and off he goes to the test bench i hear him plug it in and go for a spin...5 secs later loads of smoke and yep the store fire alarm is triggered so we and 100 other people have to evacuate the store :headvswal....took almost 1 hour to get a blooming swap done :wack:

Bit of a rant! I started on a new orange contract last november and all was well until the GPS (satnav) stopped working on my phone in April. I tried to sort it myself with resetting the phone etc but still doesn't work. Reported it to orange 21st May....and its still not been sorted! Not even a recall to see if they can fix it!! I've been on the phone to them about 7times,e ach time speaking to someone different in the call center and each time having to spend a good 10mins explaining everything! They have repeatedly failed to relay core information to their technical team who just come back with more idiot questions like 'have you tried to use it outside?'. F8cking tw$t…

Hi, I bought a leather suite about a year ago which developed a problem. The shop ordered me a new one which was on a 3 month delivery. During that 3 months the shop closed down but when I contacted the manufacturers, they were aware of the replacement for me and arranged delivery of it. The problem is the same fault has happened again and they are saying that my warranty was with the shop and not them. Is that right? Cheers Vijay

  16. As some of you may have read, the clutch gave up on my zed on the way back from LeMans. Luckily i had some Euro Breakdown cover with the RAC.................... It wasnt lucky, it was probably one of the worst experiences ive had in a LONG LONG TIME!!!! Basically i broke down on the A28 motorway outside Rouen just after the toll booths. I called the RAC, they said that they would not recover me from a motorway and a police authorised recovery service would have to do it. So i spoke to the people at the toll booth who arranged this for me....... 4 HOURS later a recovery truck turns up. Knowing the car could not be fixed at the roadside, i asked to be taken t…

  21. Now maybe I'm a bit out of touch with what people get paid these days, but these geezers who are 'just' lorry drivers, are getting £36K a year and have rejected £41K. Now sure it's a responsible job and there is a safety element involved etc but it seems like a heap of cash compared with what a lot of other people, who arguably have more 'important' jobs, are paid. Ultimately, all jobs are important to society, whether that be bin men, Doctors, Police, Nurses (and even IT Consultants lol), but I know a lot of people who are earning around half what these guys get. Anyone else thought about that ?

GREAT TRUTHS THAT LITTLE CHILDREN HAVE LEARNED: 1) No matter how hard you try, you can't baptise cats. 2) When your Mum is mad at your Dad, don't let her brush your hair. 3) If your sister hits you, don't hit her back. They always catch the second person. 4) Never ask your 3-year old brother to hold a tomato. 5) You can't trust dogs to watch your food. 6) Don't sneeze when someone is cutting your hair. 7) Never hold a Dust-Buster and a cat at the same time. 8) You can't hide a piece of broccoli in a glass of milk. 9) Don't wear polka-dot underwear under white shorts. 10) The best place to be when you're sad is Grandpa's lap.
