Ok, here it is: does the fact (or should the fact) that I work from home affect how I'm perceived as "a tradesman"...? I appreciate that a bodyshop can't really work from home (unless they have a huge garage and all the proper facilities), but a trimmer has no such constraints. But does the "working from home" aspect alter how I'm viewed...? Would people generally class me as being more professional or more reputable if I had business premises...? Thanks.

I've had these wheels for over a year now & want to get them refurbed as soon as I get back from my holiday. I've read a lot of companies won't touch split rim alloys so gona do it myself & need some advice. I've already split the front faces of the wheel off which are gona be sent off to be powder coated. When I put the face back on do i need to use any seal or just bolt it up? I've got some thread lock to use on the bolts. Also, as I havnt removed the rim it won't affect the tyre holding air will it? I wouldn't want to get them built back up to find out they've gota be taken apart again. I've been searching previous posts on the forum but just got more conf…

It's Mandys Funeral this Wednesday 25th it will start in Alkrington near Middleton, Manchester. Blackley crematorium. Meeting up at the victoria pub on hollinwood avenue. Used to be the bower. If you would like to come and pay your respects then please do so. Starting at the funeral home at 1.30pm so later on at the Crematorium ill post more accurate times later. I've been asked by the family to drive zebedee with the limos so he's taking part and on behalf of the club I've ordered a nice wreath of cream roses and purple iris with a purple ribbon bearing 300zx in gold letters. Mandys going to get a great send off I'm sure.

I know, budget questions not allowed, but... I know of no more cleverer bunch of people around, so here goes... If this govt makes a budget proposal now, if they don't get in power in May, can the new govt throw it out or are they bound (no pun ) to accept it. or if they like it ..keep it. Rich

Hi guys I've not been on the forum for a few months as one or two of you may have noticed Basically my car has been off the road since 20th December when she let me down on the way up to a Christmas do in Blackpool (I was around Preston at the time) I did manage to get her to the hotel in Blackpool, and the next day I topped the oil back up to max and limped her all the way back down the M6 to Stoke at like 50mph on pretty much 5 and a half cylinders and trailing a hell of a lot of smoke. I think (best guess) one or more of the piston rings finally gave up on me. Since 20th Dec the car has only been started once and fired up straight away, but sm…

Hi there, its a long shot and was hoping if I could get help from a fellow forum member. My son has just moved to Coventry and has just bought a Nissan Almera which needs the front disc and pads changed. He has the parts but does not have tools and a place to do the work. Is there anyone in the area that could help out with use of tools or do the job at a reasonable labour charge.... would be really greatful. Thanks Tony

As some of you may remember, I left my job to set up a procurement consultancy in September 2013. Last month I decided to move into an Enterprise Centre in Corby last month. So if anyone needs IT procurement, contract and budget management help, let me know. Anyway this is the view out of my office today, I managed to park right outside. Problem is I keep going to the window now !

Im off on holiday in the morning, leaving in a few hours to the airport to Egypt and then when i get back its all go on the TT conversion on my zed, its been a long old battle with what to do since my engine went bang in the yellow zed, so this summer she is getting TT'd up and i cant wait:punk: Although the UK TT is in pretty reasonable condition as a good base, its been off the road since 2011 and i feel i have spent so much time and money on the yellow NA not to do it and dont feel the need to run two zeds at the moment. When the conversion is done, i shall then have to make the decision to restore over a period of time or break, but for now will use it as a dono…

.......Not for me, but for Julia. I have been tentatively looking to replace Julia's aging Rav-4 since Christmas; but was never in too much of a hurry. However today, I saw this very tidy Land Rover just round the corner from me. It's 2 years older than I originally wanted; but it's been so well looked after by the original owner - no kids, dogs, etc - and he's quite possibly as fussy about cleaning his cars as me. There's barely a mark on it, no paint swirls and hardly any stone chips. It has brand new Goodyear tyres all round, full LR history; plus being the HSE spec, comes fully loaded with leather, DAB, navigation, heated memory seats, panoramic roof/sunroof - an…

As much as I'm happy with my Zed, I do occasionally check out Autotrader to see what's for sale in the world of the Porsche 928s4. Last year, you could still buy a decent example with little over 100k miles for around £10k..... http://www.autotrader.co.uk/search/used/cars/porsche/928/postcode/hp160su/radius/1501/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/quicksearch/true ....But now they are fetching almost £20k!! I don't want to start another thread about Zed prices - but wouldn't it be good to see the same thing happen there:wink:
