Can all members make themselves familiar with the Clubs AUP regarding the PM System as we have yet another ban for someone thinking they can use it to abuse other members. When the Committee see the evidence of this then there hands are tied as its an automatic 7 day ban. From the AUP.. Harassment of another user through the private messaging (PM) system will result in the enforcement of the Forum ban policy with no Warning.

Ok we all love cars here but what do you find the most annoying car related habit car owners can have ( not zed owners of course ) Mine without doubt is the rapid pull up to a stand still of my near neighbour followed by the teeth grinding sound of her pulling the handbrake on WITHOUT pushing the button is so you get the long but swift crruunncch of the handbrake ratchet arghhhh !! just push the button in you fool!! I can hear it down the lane!! Ok whats yours ?? Jeff

Yes first Sunday of the month and the local car meet brought a few of the same guys out but there was a new comer, got to say never seen such a long car, it was HUGE !! a 1985 Tiffany Classic the age was mainly given away by the interior materials and switch gear, but the front end and exhausts coming through the bonnet sides looked epic.. enjoy. Ok there are some seriously wealthy peeps here in the Algarve and some show it off and some just decide to not, recently made friends with a nice normal couple who have a large building company in the UK and he was talking about his son getting a new car and had decided to get himself and the wife a new car each too as he had crashed his last one and was waiting on the insurance. Spent the day with an MR2 friend and some of his club driving around Kent. Started in Ashford and went all around the south coast via Dungeness and Camber etc. 25 cars all trying to keep up with the car in front and being led by a racing Caterham. Im proud to report my Z got many looks and photos taken and apart from a couple of MR2 Turbos (and a 4.0 V8 Soarer!) kept up no problem!

Fired up the Camaro after 3 years. Wouldnt budge (Auto box). Freed off all brakes. Still wouldnt budge. Topped up tranny fluid (really low). Now gets a wee bit drive in reverse but wont go forward. Move shifter down through D, through S and into L (low) and it wants to go backwards !! WTF

Riding up the M11 last night, approaching Stansted, and on one of the road crossing bridges, i spot someone on the wrong side of the railings, hanging over the southbound carriageway, looking like they were ready to take a plunge. i hit the phone button on my scala, voice dial 999, and pull over the hard shoulder about 1/4 to 1/2 mile further up. the operator answers, puts me through to the police, and it just rings, and rings, and rings. the operator comes back on, apologises,,and says she will try another number, and it rings, and rings, and rings. i spot an ambulance on blues going southbound during this time. the operator comes back on, apologises agai…

I've been out for a little play today over at brands hatch. It was a super at experience day with an impressive fleet of cars (although one of the r8's and maclaren MP4 went wrong yesterday). For myself and my brother in law it was a corporate day we did 5 laps in a fiat 500 arbarth which I was very surprised how quick they are and they handle amazing!! We then had 5 laps in a 911 (996) turbo which was a fast car but I'm still not a 911 convert, then it was back in to the little fiat with the instructor doing the driving and you then learn how quick they really are. Car meets have begun here already given the slightly better weather here and they range from a few lads meeting at a local car park to full expo type affairs with literally hundreds of traders. However close to me a small but well organised club has a meet every 1st Sunday of the month, its a low key affair but gets lots of local and tourist attention, the car type is kind of a mix really, although a classic car club they have vintage and modern too. I had a little drive in a brand new BMW X5 M50d today - and considering it's still only a 3 litre (albeit triple turbo charged) diesel '6; boy does it shift for a heavy lump of a vehicle......!! It might put out "just" 381bhp; but it's good for 0-62 in 5.3s and considering its bulk and high centre of gravity, it handles itself bloody damn well too. Hell, I could even be tempted into buying one...... If I didn't prefer petrol over diesel and would still rather have a sports car. Great fun, nonetheless; and it sure surprised some random person in an Audi TTS, who could not (ahem) gain any advantage over the Beemer on a nice dual carriageway....:lol:
