...Daily driver that is. I currently have a 2 litre Alfa 156, its a brilliant car, just think I need something with a turbo for a bit more 'go'. So I'd sell the alfa for £1100-ish, I will be looking upto about £1500 for a turbocharged (petrol) motor - any suggestions or recommendations welcome! Ideally something fairly new - 1997 onwards. (new to me :blushing: ) Cars that have already crossed my mind: Saab 9-3 / 9-5 turbo Audi A4 / A6 1.8T Passat 1.8T Volvo S40 T4 any others? :helpsmilie:

Attach a lot of pics taken by our camera to emails that I send to our daughter who is working in China. Just to keep her up to date with family events etc. I am running Windows XP and normally use MSN for everything. My addy is ends in msn.com. Anyhoo, this problem just started last night for no apparent reason ? When I go to attach the pics and pres the attachment link, I always use "compress photos" Normally you can get around fifty with no problems, however, last night it popped up the information bar which read the following; "Internet Explorer has blocked this site from using an ActiveX control in an un safe manner. As a result, this pagemight not disp…

..has fecked off... think it blew out the window in its pouch as its nowhere to be seen :( It runs out end of september, obviously if police run a check they'll see it is taxed so it wont flag up anything, but isn't failure to display an offence? Will I be ok do you think or do I need to obtain a duplicate? (if I can?!) :taz::taz:

ok ok ok.:offtopic:............yes this could be a gay thing to ask but o well. Oviously you guys must look after yourself etc......so just wondering what skin care things you use? I tend to try stick to most things with the skin care logo on them, but while shaving i tend to get a red marks from time to time even if i have just changed blades or not, due to sensitive skin. So just wondering what gets used, what is good stuff etc. This thread on a car forum..........i know i know no need to all get your handbags out.

Just found these old pictures on my computer so thought I'd share them! The place is called Nettleham Hall and its just outside Lincoln. Its in the middle of the woods and not many people know about it - it just suddenly looms above you as it appears from nowhere :tt1: The place has been ripped apart by nature but the frame still stands proud, its a pretty weird place with underground and shit. Heres a pic I took: and heres am internet find! cool eh? :winkiss:

Probably a better place for my ramblings as I get old! I will still be here every day and will post some of my ideas for topics here to test the water. I have linked back to this site, so hopefully you will get some more traffic. Let me know if you want me to take it down (although I think it should be ok) Feel free to drop in The Modern Gent and see just how grump I get in my old age.... Sometimes I feel like I am turning into FunkiSi

Anyone had either of these? I need something a bit quicker but need to retain the family car I can't have the wife having a faster car than me. So, I'm looking to upgrade my 523i in the not too distant future and I'm in the process of getting my knowledge up. Apart from the Vanos(s) on the M5 any other major things to look out for? Also for the price difference, apart from the speed (i.e. 1 second quicker 0-60 and a bigger top end) what are the pro's and con's ? Thanks in advance.

Not sure when this came into effect but it can't be right surely? My mother in law is new to the whole ebay thing, she has just sold something on ebay for £729.99, now I told her to be prepared for Paypal to take there fee. which of course Paypal have already done! She's now got an account balance of £716.99 OK, so it was to be expected but I can't ever remember having to wait 21 days for the money to be available? It's not even as if she can buy things using her Paypal account as the £716 is going to be just sat in limbo for the next 21 days. and judging by Paypal's explaination, until she sells another 19 items the same 21…

Am replacing my old table and 4 chairs this week. So if anyone wants them this will be free to anyone who can pick them up before end of week when it will go to the skip. there are in good condition, chairs could do with making a bit steadier but there are in good shape.

Hi All, Does anyone have a MIG welder that I could borrow (would chuck a few pints your way as a thank you) for a weekend or is handy with a welder that I could pay to do part of my sill for me? The dreaded MOT has come round and I don't think it will pass as they are currently. Thanks in advance, Tom

Anyone remember the twisted beaten to hell yellow heap of a 300zx rear bumper that Islandsalvage in ebay wanted £75 for and said that it would be 'perfect' after an hour with a hot air gun? Well, there's this now for sale. £190 for a TVR Chimera boot lid with snapped off corners descriped as 'good condition'. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TVR-Chimaera-Boot-Lid-/110507375685?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM Why would anyone pay £80 for a damaged Astra bumper?
