My mate bought a Land Rover Discovery today, its got a lift kit on, big nobbly tyres etc and its got plenty of off road ability and experience. Its pretty cool but I prefer the looks of the Range Rovers, Grand Cherokees, Pajero/Shoguns. Far nicer inside for a start. Can anyone advise on whether these other models will match the off road performance of the Landy or am I best off getting a Disco myself?

I used to get around 54mpg in my vec oil burner but that's dropped down to about 30mpg now. The only things I've done are clean the turbo sensor and put a can of 10k through it. The engine is running fine and it boosts as it should but the mpg is crap. At first I thought it was the DPF but it should have recharged by now. Oh, and I'm not being heavy on the right foot either. Anyone have any ideas as whats going on?

After Mikey so kindly checked the car over this weekend, and found that it had no gearbox oil in it, (he added over a litre, the capacity is only 1.8l), the car has still been a mare getting it into reverse, and its also beginning to crunch a bit putting it into 1st and 2nd now. Took it back to the garage today. Accepted that they have fixed the oil problems and told them that we had an independent mechanic look it over and confirm the sump has been off and the work's been done. However I referred to the letter I sent him and his written response and how he hadn't actually replied to the issue of the crunching gears. He told me that he'd had the car back twice and "…

Did anyone else get down to this at RAF Fairford (nr Swindon)? I went down on the Sat with my folks as it's been ages since we all went somewhere together and we are all fans of airshows (last one I went to was when I was about 9yo!) Thought I'd upload a few pics I took - I've no experience of taking photos like these before so quite happy with myself but still a lot to learn! Was paying more attention to the planes than the camera tbh! Anyways...let me know what you think... Hey up Daz, looking for some advice ! Mate of mine is putting a 24v Cosworth into his old Capri and was wondering where he can get any advice/diagrams for figuring out the ECU. He has the full wiring harness and would like a few pointers. Any light you can shed would be most appreciated. Cheers dude, Alan................

My girlfriend has a 2002 VW beetle with a 2.0 8v engine. for about the last 12 months she has complained about intermittent engine management light and poor performance. Tonight I drove it home and as I came of the motorway, stopped at the bottom of the sliproad at the lights, as i pulled off the car went very hesitant, managment light was flashing intermitently and the car sounded as though it was on 3 cylinders. It would clear soon after but under hard acceleration the problem reoccured... So far the car has had two new o2 sensors and a new cat. Any ideas whats wrong with it guys? Thanks, Dan

Went to Trading Standards on Monday, took my diary of events down and spoke to a really helpful adviser who said said she felt I had a case, and gave me a standard letter template and told me to do the letter that day and send it registered, which I did. Got home today to a letter from the garage refuting all my claims, saying they've been driving the car without the oil warning light coming on and that they are helpless to fix a problem that they haven't seen. They don't even address the gearbox issue or the knocking/feedback through steering. They say the oil light problem is because my boyfriend put too much oil in it (he hasn't touched it), then they say that be…
