  1. Sorry for the late participation! My 300zx is now on the road, and I live just around the corner. I’m interested in being involved, and I’m going to be going anyway so if you want another car you have one if not I’ll look forward to seeing you there :)
  2. Thanks, I used some spring compressors on the old air con and power steer belts and it worked a treat :)
  3. Hi guys I used this method to release the crank pulley bolt so I didn’t have to remove my starter motor. Worked great. Now I’ve done the timing belt I want to tighten the pulley bolt back up to the correct torque but my brain has stopped working and I can’t figure out how to do it. If it was a manual I’d put it in gear to stop the engine moving but it’s an auto so the only thing I can think to do is take the starter motor off and jam a gear. Any thoughts so I can carry on being lazy?
  4. Thanks guys. Joely P we'll have to look out each other when it's on road, i'm planning on doing some local car shows and meets like the cars and coffee mornings at Kelvedon and a few of the Essex Car Meets events. The Warren Estate do a great all classics show sometime in September that's always worth a look. Just some more photos of the larger and smaller jobs ongoing at the moment including the horrfic personal plate I've bought and love .....
  5. I post a few bits and a load of rubbish on Instagram as well under @dubsouth. Currently I'm mid timing belt change and waiting for a new drivers side scuttle to arrive, then it will be going for it's MOT and an underseal and I'll enjoy driving it at weekends.
  6. Finally, here are some photos of the car after I cleaned things up a bit ....
  7. Hi all, I was trying to find the paint code of the original nissan grey used on the ‘moustache’ trim mentioned above. Does anybody know this?
  8. Hi all finally some pictures of the car as promised. I had some good news when the car arrived, it only had 20,300 miles on it vs the advertised 23K. Plus I had the BIMTA cert come through, all verified. 1 by Andrew Kirby, on Flickr 2 by Andrew Kirby, on Flickr 3 by Andrew Kirby, on Flickr 4 by Andrew Kirby, on Flickr 5 by Andrew Kirby, on Flickr
  9. I have a full service kit on the way, a workshop manual and some great mechanics I can call on if needed. I’ll add a belt and water pump kit too and make it one of the first jobs I do. It’s not a daily car so can sit in my garage for weeks at a time if needed :)
  10. The American market seems to drum up the highest prices, manual TT’s with 3k miles on clock with estimates in prestige auctions of $40,000. A low mileage, oem twin turbo is a car to keep hold of for the future although speaking for myself I’ve never bought a car as an investment, if you enjoy it and one day get your money back and more it’s a bonus.
  11. Thanks guys. Ah so it’s not mine then! Bamboo Joe did you change the timing belt on yours as soon as you got it? Obviously car hasn’t reached 60k yet but a 20 odd year old belt is probably not a good thing right?
  12. Hi guys I’m a first time owner and newbie to the 300zx world. I have previously and still spend a lot of time with old VWs and Mercedes. I have just recently found an import 1993 Twin Turbo LWB with only 23k miles on the clock. I intend to freshen it up a bit but not really modify it beyond a set of quality coilovers and era correct wheels. I take delivery of the car on Saturday and will post up some pictures once I’ve given it a full DA session and detail. Looking forward to ownership and speaking with you all.
